I'm curious to see what happens. Personally I can't see EDM trap making a dent in the hip hop world. I listen to virtually everything, and I just can't see it. Personally, the vibe I get from EDM trap is that it's cool to listen to instrumentals, but once a voice gets over the beat it kind if kills the vibe. Producers need to find a better way to merge the two more smoothly.

it's come this far...the presence of an instrumental like "harlem shake" is so dominant it is hard to rap over...same thing with something like higher ground, yaow!, or rollup. i can't see rappers over "lana's theme" either

some are trying to make it work. hit boy is essentially doing the same thing but a little bit more in the backround. and that i dig.

wayne and nicki are going over a TNGHT beat on IANHB2 which should be interesting to say the least. nicki is one of the few people who's cadences and presence are so strong that I think she would be well suited for their work. wayne used to be someone but now hes a shell of his former self flow and cadence wise

i've been trying to say this was the next big thing for awhile, i made a thread awhile ago on the coli about TNGHT but the response was lukewarm

i was wondering forawhile if trap would ever merge with rnb...hit boy actually has a backround in rnb stuff from his surf club days so he might be the guy for that too

yeah definitely not...props to him for being brave enough to go over it though, a lot of rappers these days are too stuck in a box with their production selection, afraid to leave their element

the first person to spazz on a mixtape of full edmtrap beats....its coming. we might not even know who the person is yet....but it will happen and it will be divisive

Danny Brown rapped over a Flosstradamus beat and Captain Murphy went over Buggn.

It's gonna be interesting. There's a group called Thugli who do a good job with EDM trap beats. They leave enough room on the track for vocals to be prominent.

I wonder how a song like this will go over with her R&B fans. While people on the site are in "Aww" over the track, we still have to realize this is a hip hop board.
