It only dropped 25% this weekend. If next weekend has a similar drop it most likely will.Crazy hold for Asians.
Damn Fallout might not catch either protocol or MI2 domestically.

cause you think that budget's too high?Yes too high for such a niche idea. I would think $20M at most.are youcause you think that budget's too high?
Cause I'd imagine them puppets can't be cheap
Guess they thought they could tap into that Ted money. But Melissa McCarthy has been on a downward trend. Think they hooked their wagon to the wrong lead.well they did use a shytload of puppets beyond the main 5-6. There were a lot of scenes with random background puppets doing stuff. I guess they really wanted to bring home the idea of the puppet world
Comedy in general isGuess they thought they could tap into that Ted money. But Melissa McCarthy has been on a downward trend. Think they hooked their wagon to the wrong lead.

Every genre and sub genre used to be well represented at the box office. Nowadays if you ain’t a blockbusterComedy in general is
"We’re completing the first summer in more than 20 years without a $100 million comedy."
The 2018 Comedy Death Spiral: ‘The Happytime Murders’ Is One of the Worst Movies of the Year

Bu-bu-but X-Men in the MCU!If anybody wants to see how much Power Disney yields already, and how them buying Fox is going to make it even worse, look no further than Christopher Robin.
The film has been out 4 weeks,is barely making money, and yet the theatre losses make absolutely no sense in comparison to its performance.
The movie is losing less theatres than mission impossible every weekend, yet is making less and has a lower theatre average.
Compare it to the skyscraper. A film that made almost the exact same amount of money it’s first 2 weekends. On weekend 3 after the customary standard 2 week expansion for films, skyscraper lost over 1000+ theatres. By weekend 4,it lost another 1000+. In comparison Christopher Robin lost 0 theatres after weekend 3,and only lost 208 this weekend. It’s playing in more theatres than most of the top 10 despite barely making money.
1 studio having this much power is not healthy for the film industry.

I wonder how much of that was Melissa McCarthy's paycheck?Happy time murders had a $40M budget
Man STX has been taking it on the chin a lot. They need a hit or they’re going to close up shop.
