While one fight is just one very small sample size, I'm still going to go with Floyd Sr. tightening up the defense even more. He danced around the ring against Guerrero. Roger is the more offensive trainer, Senior is defensive. That big ass ring is going to kill Canelo by round six if the right hand lead isn't already landing with regularity by then.
Ortiz had the perfect plan but couldn't go about it properly. Pressure.

If you actually watch all of Mayweather fights you could see he doesnt like to get or face counter punchers, despite people thinking he struggles with come forward brawlers, thats what he wants, if you decide to counter he'll open up more and force you to fight like he did in the Cotto and Judah fights
Being patient and counter Floyd is the way to beat him even if you do that, you have to adjust 4 or 5 times, because Floyd understand how to beat each style. Canelo isnt a counter puncher and cant fight implementing that strategy, he'll get peppered with the jab, body jab, right hook, Canelo squares up with no movement so he'll eat those punches over and over....
Floyd is not a ko fighter but I believe he'll get the ko here, if lil Lopez and Shot Shane was laying hands on Canelo at will what is the best offensive fighter coupled with the most complex punch arsenal gonna exploit, not to mention the GOAT defense......

And this isnt canelo camp choice. It really aint Floyd's choice either. Its Showtime becuz they didnt make the moneu back they thought they would from the Guerrero fight. Why do you think this undercard is so stacked?

I want to say he's got the best chance out of any fighter he can realistically fight right now.
What i will say 1st is I think people are putting too much emphasis about Canelo's inexperience in comparison to Mayweather. I see people saying he needs 1-2, maybe 3 more fights to get ready, but I'm on the boat of "He's as ready as he's going to ever be". There isn't a fighter out there Canelo can fight to prepare him for Mayweather, that's just a reality. It's also tough for me to look at Mayweather vs Guerrero and say, "Yea, that's the Floyd we're going to see September 14" just as right now I don't think we're going to see the same Canelo we saw against Trout. It's two completely different fights for both guys and both guys have shown the ability to adjust (more so with Floyd). But when I look at Mayweather vs Cotto and see where Cotto was successful, I actually see Canelo bringing more to the table in this fight (faster, harder puncher, better defense, bigger, better combination punching, better inside fighter) which is why though I still favor Floyd by decision, I can't shut out Canelo at all in this fight. Canelo also in comparison to Cotto and Oscar who had seen their best days is still on the upside. Who's to say Canelo doesn't reach his potential in this particular fight?

This too, Canelo doesn't have 1 punch KO power for floyd, he's a combination and volume knockout guy
