I still SMH @ people who questioned Vince for the WWE network, that shyt is genius and they will eventually drop the tv deals once the shift happens. TV and PPV is an old antiquated business model that needs to die. It worked out for Floyd Mayweather, but at the end of the day...subscriptions are where the real money is at in the long run for a business. The WWE I am sure did the math, most wrestling heads would probably order just one PPV...Mania. $120 > $60 and you also have to consider the cut the cable companies get...it just makes perfect business sense. Vince is a great business man.

All the boxing heads here on the coli will probably pay $20 a month to watch all the boxing piff they want if they were to get all boxing federations to agree on a split for licenses and get HBO/Showtime outta here

We would literally be able to see boxing every single day if we wanted to and the money the organizations would get would be astronomical once you consider the worldwide audience....they'd be raking it in so much that the loss of a PPV won't even matter.

Only reason I pay for hbo/sho is for boxing.

Time will only tell. The network has not meet expectations so far. They are still giving out free months and stock continues to tank everytime they announce sub numbers. PPV is not dying. Floyd has just shown that if an attraction is out there, ppl will pay.

The business model is slowly dying overall, just because the Mayweather and Pacquiao camps made out like crazy doesn't mean that is anywhere near the norm. The WWE board knows this and made the right decision launching the network.

What Boxing needs is a larger subscription base to keep that steady revenue going. Financially boxing is doing just fine the way it is, but I just wish it was a bit more organized. Boxing has a tremendous following all across the board and the amount of revenue it can potentially revenue if organized will trump whatever is being made now. Hell, many people don't even know when klitschko fights and he is the heavyweight champ of the world, has won 22 fights in a row and has not lost in over 10 YEARS

I think the WWE network will be just fine btw, I am not sure what the beef is with people who don't want to subscribe tbh. It's a great deal as it currently stands.

The problem with the UFC is oversaturation, but only a minor issue. The real issue is that most stars arent that exciting, and the big fights dont get the right hype because MMA fighters are morons when training and always get injured

No it is not dying. And WWE went that route because THEIR ppv's weren't drawing. MMA and esp boxing are doing fine. You talking about Klitschko and his fight against Jennings did good numbers. PBC is doing good. Its WWE doing record low numbers for their shows and losing money. The network will be profitable in the long run but it will never meet expectations they had when they launched it/be an incentive for other org to follow their model.

Yea I know it sounds bad. But Dave Meltzer is one of the most respected journalist in MMA/WWE(having done it for 30 years) and if he says that I tend to believe him. This isn't some random thing pulled from an ass
