UFC does have a better business model than boxing…but you can say say because they are a 1 pony show. Well let’s take PBC for example. They basically run their own shyt and they still don’t do consistent even matchups.

Boxing hides the frauds way better than the UFC. And the UFC will make the 2 best right each other. All the UFC champs are deserving and of you are boring you get shytted on and rightfully so. 99% of the time you get the number 1 and number 2 fight.

And the pay thing is what it is…ain’t nobody stopping Jake Paul and Oscar from paying mma fighters more..

Now the criminal thing UFC does is not let fighters wear sponsors to the ring or in the ring. That’s foul ass hell and ain’t no excusing that.

I think what Dana is saying here makes sense……bottom line is UFC is more similar to the NFL/NBA, and UFC has only been around since the 90’s. If fighter pay was as big as a issue as the media/social media says it is…Why does Conor come back to fight in the UFC? Why does Jon Jones say he’ll be fighting HW in the UFC come 2022? Why don’t you hear the top UFC guys complain about pay?

And Jake Paul is a glass house, the moment he starts to lose, nobody gonna pay for his PPV. Conor loses, fight fans are still willing to pay for the PPV event because UFC actually puts on a better show/card.

Don't know much about UFC but he is right that boxing creates an illusion that fighters get paid well.
Boxing is all about the top x%. Every boxing card is filled with dudes risking their safety and getting CTE for pennies. Sometimes even headliners get relative pennies
Kownacki got something took out of him physically for $100K in his fight against Helenius (who made pennies too) and that was a fight PBC built a whole card/network date around AND he sold out Barclays. The fact I made more than both them dudes combined since that bout and I have all my brain cells still :picard:
It's like 15-20 guys in boxing, out of thousands, that get paid consistently well. And they are probably a bad knock out loss or beating away from being removed from that small group if they don't have a long term promoter agreement (ie: tevin farmer)

UFC is a company. Boxing isn’t a company. It’s not even a reasonable comparison.

The noise around UFC fighters not getting paid is getting louder and louder, especially with the Paul's pressing this conversation to a younger, more mainstream demographic.
Boxers don’t get paid that well either.

The discussion is really about the TOP fighters not getting paid. But you could be 8-8 and make a living as a UFC fighter. You couldn’t do that as a boxer.

UFC is a company. When people reference boxing they’re talking either about individual boxers or individual fight cards. The comparison is apples and oranges.

Where would they go? They're locked into contracts, and in Jones case since he was always the champ they have special clauses that add on more fights to their contracts.

Dana is just mad that fighter pay is being disucssed more and more, dude tried to launch "Zuffa Boxing" and then realized there was no lane for him so he closed up shop. Hilarious that he literally talks about boxing every week at these pressers, you will never hear UFC and MMA discussed at post fight pressers for boxing cards.
