k-ci & jojo had their own reality show on tv-one based around them getting sober. they played the clip of that incident on the show.

how so? boyz II men was out before jodeci.

besides, boyz II men had 3 lead singers and 1 talker. the only thing those 2 groups have in common is that they both have 4 members and blew up darn near the same time.

jodeci = the most over-credited group of the '90s. and im a jodeci fan but that needs to be said.

cosign that last comment. kc & jojo were sure dam getting their boyz II men after they went on their own.

bbd was the precursor in a sense to the what jodeci was doin' as far as image goes but when it comes to the influence of sound, it was guy in the beginnin' and then more so the whole west coast scene, like snoop's doggystyle or some shyt. the show, the afterparty, the hotel sounds like an r&b answer to what snoop's doggystyle album was to hip hop in a way; only with guys singin' and harmonizin' but over some funky, hard hittin' beats. again, sound wise? the beats on that album knock and those brothers were jammin' on there. it's as about as close as an r&b album in the 90's got to bein' the r&b answer to snoop's doggystyle album, in both content and production

jodeci's primary influence at the start of their career came from that new jack swing that is teddy riley's guy which has a a wide variety of genres of music mixed together. remember, al b sure helped devante out in the beginnin' when they was workin' on forever my lady. he too is a product of that new jack swing sound.

but jodeci were huge fans of guy, the gap band, and the deele when they were comin' up. of course those guys came up prince and mj as well

in no way shape or form are jodeci the "most over credited group of the 90's". those guys deserve as much credit as possible. they've influenced so many that came after them from 112 to dru hill to jagged edge, blackstreet (devante one upped teddy once he started jodeci and teddy went on to form blackstreet after guy fell back for a minute. blackstreet's image was a bit of jodeci) etc plus, devante was a talent scout. he had a slew of artists who went off to have their own success with everyone from timbaland, missy, stevie j, static major (wrote a lot for aaliyah), smoke, ginuwine, tweet etc. all of those people went on to have success in a variety of ways whether as artists themselves and or helpin' other artists behind the scenes. it's shame too, because devante was really just gettin' started with trainin' his own team or writers and producers before it all fell apart.

man you didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.

you typed all this just to dance around what I said in my post. majority of the trends jodeci gets credited for, were not started by them.
