I have come to notice that a lot of these “shortages” depend on how earlier/later you’re willing to go into the store and get it. I got wipes yesterday with no problem by going to the store right when it opened.

Yeah stores do just in time ordering. If someone comes in and buys 22 thousand containers of wet wipes they'll be a shortage for a minute but they'll be more next week.

Processing. There's still plenty of food with no one to process.

There will be small temporary disruptions, but nothing long term.

Short disruptions can have huge consequences though :francis:

Most people STILL can’t wrap their head around the fact that this shyt is just starting.

The fallout from Covid is what’s gonna be a game changer, not the disease itself.

Certain stores are strict about sticking to the quantity limit things, but others don’t really care. I know Kroger says the 1 quantity per item thing or the senior citizens get the first hour, but they don’t enforce it.

I'm aware. I worked in food manufacturing for a long time.

Everything is going to change after Covid. There won't be a segment of our lives that doesn't have some impact due to this.

They are always so vague with the info. Which companies in specific will be impacted by this? We need to know becuz not every grocery still necessarily carries the same brands

Yeah they really play up the scare tactics of corona it's not working anymore.

The meat companies like tyson (who produce around 20% of the meat we eat) been asking the government for bail out money too.

So this state of the supply chain potentially being broken could be a stretch if the truth.

However working in a meat processing place before it is the perfect place for bacteria and viruses to spread. Most the workers are poor, work close together, are poor to extremely poor and live in rural areas. So it is a perfect place for the virus to spread without resistance. So in that sense yeah the supply chain can be broke because its a single point of failure if they have a massive outbreak at multiple plants.

I thought there was enough food in the supply chain to feed everybody or was that a lie as well. I went in Kroger yesterday and it was still stocked with food minus rice.

These farmers are destroying crop yields bc their loans stipulate if they don't have buyers they can't give out food or some shyt, so perfectly good food is being wasted right there. Also even if you have raw food they claim we don't have the ability to process many foods quickly enough

These meat processors do not want to address any issues, their plants are disease factories now. They just put out bullshyt statements of "oh we changed things and are giving PPE to emplpyees" while doing absolutely nothing and their employees die off.

They are angling at bailouts for themselves

The problem is that it IS working. People see these headlines then panic buy shyt like the idiots they are. Demand rises, and the meat companies resupply the stores because they have no problem doing that. Rinse and repeat :coffee:
