pity votes.

UTFO deserves a couple votes. granted, if it wasnt a shutout, i wouldve voted tribe, but hey, UTFO's biggest hits trump tribe's biggest chit.

and lets be reality, 2 live crew left a WAY bigger mark on the game than outkast. this shouldve been a competitive matchup.

Miami bass :scusthov:
That shyt is barely hip hop to me. They were household names because of the court case/controversy though.

2 live had a nice DJ and naked women...that about it
:mjlol:

2 live crew is one of the absolutely most important groups in rap history.

and thats not even counting the fact that they were also the group that put the south on the map.
Were they before the Geto Boys :ohhh:
How important was the music itself though?

- that court case was vital.
- yep. before the geto boys.
- they made legendary club/party records.

thats also 3 reasons of importance. cant think of any for their opponents tho.

Never could get into Public Enemy, but i always liked Dead Prez, Lets Get Free and Revolutionary But Gangsta still get play from me :yeshrug:
I hear you - everything pre "Can't Truss It" was before my time. And I don't feel the older Public Enemy albums like I do Criminal Minded, Paid In Full and long live the Kane.
But I like them way more than any Dead Prez album. They were dope though.

Court case ain't music. And Kast had their own incredibly important court case. Can you imagine how different hip hop would have been if rappers weren't able to name songs that don't have anything to do with Rosa Parks "Rosa Parks"? Whole different genre.
I liked Scarred and Hoochie Mama. Outside of that though - couldn't rock with it. They may be legendary records - but they're legendary Miami Bass records so :yeshrug:
