shyt like the galaxy joints, spiderman joints and what not are corny/wack to me. But some solid / predominantly black foams, and others like the original Pennies are fresh as hell to me. I only got one pair though.

to me, ugly is shyt like them Kobe Flyknits i see nikkas boosting in here . If you playing ball in em salute ...but to actually rock? Nah. Same goes for the Brons and Kyries.

i'm the type to spend $200 on some obscure japanese / european denim because thats my thing. The quality of the embroidery, pocketing,dye and materials is . Joes and hoes cant tell the difference...but a true denim head knows

Those 29s are also ugly as sin and one of the uglier version of the 29s period. The Xi is the most popular Jordan sneaker ever so it's not hard to see why people want them, along with the fact that similar 29s in that unc colorway are already being clearance, while the pantone Xi isn't available by itself anywhere.
I don't understand the argument about ppl not buying Jordans to hoop in anymore, most ppl aren't rich enough to go trash 180$+ pair of basketball shoes or need multiple pairs to hoop in to begin with. Plus Jordan retro quality is trash I'd hoop in any new model ball shoe before stiff ass Jordan retros.

As for your XX9 comment that is my point, you say they are ugly, but XX9s are a great balling shoe wouldnt you agree? So a XX9 that has a hard time reselling for $130 shipped because of the colors, yet the same XX9 in a differet color can get hyped up and sell out at retail $225? So what is it a balling shoe or a show shoe? I would rather beat up a comfy XX9 for $130 then beat up a pair of pretty $225 shoes of the same line, same release? No?

you're right most people don't buy j's to ball in anymore, but jb has put out some really good ball sneakers over the past year or so with the xx8 and xx9. i have a pair of xx8 se i ball in and it's the best dedicated basketball sneaker i've ever played in bar none. ...at least they were until the zoom bag popped in the forefoot of one shoe. a very common problem with the xx8. filed a claim with nike and they sent me a voucher for full retail, so at least that was a good look. scored another pair for $85 and will ball in those until they pop then get another voucher from nike.

picked up a pair of xx9 blackouts off footlocker for 180 shipped with discounts a few weeks ago. haven't played in them yet, but that colorway actually looks pretty good on foot and the woven upper is nice. not sure i'll keep them yet. gonna see what others say about durability before i start wearing/balling in them.

but a lot of ppl dont, thats why u see them a few weeks later selling for even below retail trying to recoup their money

the 29s > any jordan retro for simple basketball purposes. easy. same goes for any new kobe, durant, lebron, kyrie, because new technology shyts on old designs and jordan retros just arent comfortable.

can be bought for like 40$ under retail right now, but nobody wants them on sale or otherwise. and i dont know of any xx9 colorway that has sold out, they're all available on every retailer site right now. the BHM 29s may sell out (doubt it) and that's only because it's a special release shoe. 29s in general havent/dont sell out, esp at that price tag.

A lot of people buy J's simply because MJ is GOAT and nothing more. Some J's i'll never buy because I personally don't like 'em but eh!

To the person who mentioned the XX9 for hooping; agreed - function > form. No way you'll catch me on the court wearing some Jordan 1s when I can be wearing a comfortable Kobe 9 or KD7 that has countless comfort features LOL
