my 2016 wc4 from ndc came in today. the right shoe was creased and wrinkled on the corner of the toe box. left one was perfect. my expectation is (for the price increase and "remastered" pitch) quality control should be top notch, consistent, and both shoes should be immaculate.
after comparing to my 2012s i can definitively say the leather on 2016 is nicer i.e. softer and doesn't have the leather pressed on plastic feel of the 2012. other than that the changes seem marginal. hardcore purists will appreciate the change in cement shade, nike air, netting, lace tabs, etc. i just wanted higher quality. for me neither year had any paint, stitching, glue or other issues. my 2012 have held up very well and midsoles have no paint chipping or peeling. don't get me wrong i think the 2016 look great, but mine just don't give me that remastered feeling...yet. haven't worn them, but hear they're more comfortable.
they'll stay in the box for a while or until my 2012s finally get beat which may be a long time from now. guess i should have tempered my expectations just slightly. still my favorite j of all time and would buy again.

9s for Black Friday 
The only time i ever got legit stressed and depressed was when the 2012 versions dropped. I went to the mall at 8 and the fukkin' line was more steep than Notting Hill.
If i recall, i was prolly 15th in line at Sheek (i don't fukkin' usually like to buy shoes from middle eastern-themed retailers cuz i don't trust their backdoor antics... and they stink) so by the time it was all said and done (right before ten)... they tell us, "We've got 3 of each size... " So at that point, i'm looking at the line, sizing the people up, asking who's what size... and it seemingly seemed like i was good!
So i'm chopping it up with shoe afficionados to the front of me... the back of me... it was fun times. Old dudes, young dudes. Fellas with their bytches, their babies... older women coppin' for their kids, ratchet hoes from around the way; i loved the diversity and the idea that these shoes demographic was literally everyone.
By the time clock struck 10... i'm feeling good about myself, i was only looking for one pair to rock, my boy was performing with his band that evening and i had preconceived my outfit for the shindig; it was aboot to get burnt!
People are steadily trickling in as they are filtering entries to 2 people at a time... then as I get to the front gate, they announce sizes that remain, "yadda yadda yadda... NO MORE 11... yadda yadda yadda."
FUKK!!!
Quickly me and a bunch of people (not everyone, some had hope or simply didn't hear) jetted to Footlocker.
That line was even MORE ATROCIOUS! Fakk.
Long story short. I copped some Deion Trainer 2's as a consolation cop (and I even ended up giving those to my coworker, worn once, about a year later).
That drive home was disheartening for serious. I was almost so certain that everyone was gonna eat that day and they let SOOOOOO many people down. But remember, this was the first major release post Concord 11 (to which, i have Kalon to thank for helping me out, or else i would have never been able to gun a pair down. Seriously). At that time, i wasn't even considering going to ebay out of principle; i was almost certain i was going home with them bytches... so you can see that the sourness just really overwhelmed me (yeah, i know, first world prollems). But i was soooo amped for this release cuz i wanted these shiits since i was an adolescent; when the 99's dropped my junior year, i had no funds back then (one more tidbit i wanted to share with y'all... back in 89-90 school year, mom dukes copped me the XJ-900 jumps of these and my boy from the AIR TRAINER HUARACHE story i told y'all a few days ago... was clowning the shiit out of me. HAHA! Being in the jects, you didn't care as long as they were new. And them thangs looked EXACTLY like jordans. The thing was, i didn't buy them because they looked like jordans, as a matter of fact, i didn't even know what cement 4's looked like at the time... the XJ jumpoff was so sweet to me cuz of the silhouette; little did i know, brehs... little did i know - thank you mother, for my first... and last sneaker memories).
Later that night, my boy who was performing, was... yeah, you guessed it... ROCKIN' THEM BAD BOYS. Ugh! Swear to care bare, i was so salty, a slug would have disintegrated at the sight of me. They looked SO FIRE (I had on my oreo VI's that night, real clean at the time and they actually got more dappage cuz they were 2 years young at the time and cats weren't accustomed to the look). But deep down, it only mattered how i felt; i was more bummed than a homeless encampment.
Since then, every so often, i'd see some dude rockin' it (usually in very good condition, prolly just unds'ed... the last 4 times i saw them were asian dudes. HAHA. Fukkin' aye man) and i'm be as jelly as petroleum paste... they're such a distinctive and iconic sneaker. Most guys don't make them look flattering but i swear they enhance anybody's outfit something sincere. I'm so sinsurr.
My pair cums in tomorrow and i'm even at more of a crossroads... as i told myself i wouldn't even open them until i got a job. So now i must go career hunting. So however long it takes for me to find employment ---- is when i will treat/reward myself and be re-united with my cement IV's.
IN a way, it will almost be like going to payless shoesource with my moms and revisiting the Cement IV silhouette experience again.
This time... the shoes are real.

I just recently un DS my cement 4s from a few years ago. The 2016 version has the "NIKE AIR" on them and has a lighter color but I wasn't even interested in them and could've easily had them on the SNKRS app.
It's all about the demand. JB has a lot of consumers by the balls, especially the younger crowd. Notice the price point for just regular retro's are $190 now. When the cement 4s dropped in '12 it was 160. I honestly think every version of the adidas yeezy is ugly, but the name and they hype have the resell volume going crazy and that's what it's about.
I also didn't purchase the 72-10s, I like originals and even though the shoe looks more comfortable than the bred 11s, it's a gimmick and the resellers were pissed because they sat. Look for the next few retros to sell out because the income tax ballers are in full effect and everything will be bought up... Those master's will sell out quick.
