Beal loves being “the guy.” He loves to hear fans begging him to join their team. He also wants to win. If he goes to the warriors and all he does is stand in the corner and shoot 10 shots a game…….he is going to regret it and opt out like KD.

Pick a lane. I personally last year leaned towards trading Beal for a haul of assets.
His desire is to stay in DC though. And those years of tanking in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013... and we only have Beal (and I guess Westbrook as a stand in for Wall) left to show for it pisses me off. Cause Ernie Grunfeld was terrible at asset management.
So we gonna tank in 2022, 2023, 2024? And then we got to wait till 2027-2028 to be competitive again? Or do we have a run like the late 80s into early 90s where the Bullets were in the lottery every year? Or like the post-Webber trade era where they didn't sniff the postseason for 8 years?
So Wizards fans who are pro-rebuilding, I get that sentiment. At the same time, I don't know if I trust Tommy Sheppard to actually be creative in a rebuild. Are we even going to get a player of Beal's caliber in this decade?
My gut says they should go the way of Utah or Miami... be competitive and scout well. They did a solid job on finding Gafford. Tommy did scoop up Bryant when the Lakers had to give him up. They need more moves like that but on the wing positions and backup PG.
I want to see Wes Unseld Jr. with this group too. How much more effective is he and how much better is he than Brooks? Cause a positive coaching change can do wonders.
The 2023 salary sheet clears up with Westbrook expiring too.
Morey turned a 6 seed into a 1 seed in 2 weeks
Tommy can’t turn a 8 seed into a 4 seed? And consider that Brooks' coaching cost them a dozen games, they win half of those they would have been where ATL and NY were.
Beal and Lillard are just working overtime to not come across as the bad guy for forcing their way out.
