Beals wife liked this tweet :lupe:

I'm all for bringing in hoopers but I'm not trading Rui for jerami grant.
I wonder how the players feel when his mouth piece actively trying to get them traded.
What people don’t understand is that Milwaukee made a commitment to Giannis EARLY to build a winning team around him. Washington hasn’t shown that same dedication. When they had Wall at his prime and Beal they let the two of them just run the show instead of BUILDING around them.

I’d rather be Lebron and realize early that the front office ain’t shyt and bounce than some of these “loyal” player who put the franchise on their backs for years out of “loyalty” and end up with nothing.

Of course Beal should do what ultimately makes him happy. If he’s happy in DC then stay put. But fukk Loyalty real talk

He's doing too much. This is shyt that can be aired out privately and Beal has leverage. The way to go about this isn't to have your mouth piece call out an owner and organization that said they are building around you.
Now you creating a situation where people think he wants to leave and are willing to be buyers instead of sellers. And no one will want to come here also if he's not committed. So how does this work?

By all accounts, Bradley Beal is still weighing his future with the Washington Wizards two days before the draft, yet there's a growing expectation among league personnel that the All-Star guard may still choose to remain with the Wizards for now. Winning, and winning in the nation's capital, has long been communicated as Beal's top priority, and Washington's ability to offer a fifth year to his next deal using Bird rights next summer could ultimately net Beal an extra $54 million over the length of that contract.

Though Wizards guard Bradley Beal had not asked for a trade as of Monday morning, a source said that a Bleacher Report story that he is considering asking for trade is accurate.

A decision on Beal’s intentions could be made before Thursday’s draft but that isn’t certain, according to the source. Beal’s frustration results from his lack of conviction about whether the Wizards are trying to win immediately, according to the source.

According to the source with direct knowledge, the Heat is among several teams that very much appeals to Beal.

Beal — who can become a free agent next July - could give Washington a list of preferred destinations if he asks for a trade, but that isn’t definite. The Heat, Golden State and the two Los Angeles teams are among teams that appeal to him.

The Heat has coveted Beal for years but appears to lack the draft assets to land him if Washington makes him available before Thursday’s NBA Draft. (To this point, he is not available in trade discussions.)

The Heat doesn’t have a pick in Thursday’s draft, and draft protections on the 2023 first-round pick owed to OKC that run until 2026 prevents Miami from offering a future first-round pick before its 2028 pick, which becomes available to trade on Aug. 2. The Heat and OKC could agree to lift protections to make earlier first-round Heat picks available in a trade.

The Heat’s chance of landing Beal might increase somewhat if he’s not made available by the Wizards until just before next season’s trade deadline and if he’s noncommittal about signing with teams that have more assets to offer Washington than the Heat does.

Why? Dude hasn’t said ONE thing or made ONE complaint. He plays and keeps it moving.
Why?

Because the Wizards are a horrible franchise in NBA quick sand :what:

Beal just wants to stay there and get his shots, score his meaningless points, get his Super max and win nothing..

And what happens when Tommy Sheppard strikes out on picks and you never get a player as good as Beal for the rest of the decade and beyond?

Like I posted before, look at the Bullets history and the years of cellar dwellar times.
We are already cellar dwellers with him.

Nah they in mediocrity

But if you have two all nba guards and superior coaching, Wizards would have been on ATL and NYK level this year. Can’t tell me they wouldn’t been

Issue is the 4th/5th seed is the highest ceiling

can the Wizards resign Beal this summer long term or does it have to be next summer when he declines his player option?

If it weren’t for a hot streak against bad teams, we would be in the lottery.

We need to rebuild.

He can sign a super max extension this October, and can sign a years of service super max next summer I believe.

so it makes sense for him to wait either way until next year, which means the Wizards cant get confirmation he will stay long term

this summer/offseason is the last chance the Wizards have to get any substantial value back for Beal

Bulls got 7th pick, Lavine, Dunn when Jimmy had two years left on contract
Pacers got Sabionis & Dipo when Paul George had only 1 year left on contract (same as Beal)

if he is already teetering on wanting out now (which it sounds like), it seems like a no brainer to trade him now while you can get value back

Indeed. I been saying it for a while that Beal wants to sign that years of service super max. If he wanted to win, he would have asked out a while ago.

I don’t think the Wizards want to trade him because that would mean a rebuild which Leonsis doesn’t want to do. Leonsis is totally fine with being a treadmill team, as long as we make the playoffs and there is a star to promote.
