Street cred? He took and L and Push for sure made a diss song that he knew would resonate with Drake's black female fan bass, but he will be fine commercially.

people really dont wanna admit this

as a dj who will always respect the core of hip-hop and what it means..... there will never be a party where drake is not requested
he will never be a tough guy or GOAT mc (which i dont think he was going for anyway) though, hes like a wayyyyyy better nelly at this point

I swear.....you cats....

Of course he was trying to be the GOAT MC. That avenue is now completely cut off from him so his fans want to retroactively play the "oh, who cares, that was never his goal" card....which is clearly 100% bullshyt.

The man built a shrine to Andre 3000....copped a used Clipse mic off Ebay....he's on camera stanning Joe fukking Budden....he used to frequent the underground battle scene and pop shyt to guys like Murda Mook....if you're telling me he did all that in hopes that Billboard.com would compare his career to Adele and Bruno Mars....you're smoking rocks.

His career will be fine, firmly in the pop star lane. Which is probably a bittersweet victory because that was obviously not his aim.

:gucci: Where you live at?

Im in Dallas. I go to Houston quite often. Which track is gettin any burn on radio? Dont say its regional because Radio One controls most mainstream hiphop stations.

Btw I like Pusha music. Im not championin anyone.

Pusha took his shoot and made Thanos bleed but he didnt kill him. Drake has big corps behind him. Dude is cash cow.

never understood the appeal in the first place, and he should've been finished when those demo tracks leaked

you can be great at what you do without being the GOAT or wanting to be the GOAT. even as drake fan (and also a nas, pusha, ye, kendrick, cole, pac, big fan). if you think drake thinks hes gonna be pac or big status i think you think more of him than he does . :mjlol:

he obviously still gets credit and acknowledgement from his peers in the hip-hop game, including jay. and his contemporary peers are not so great that drake cant keep up. besides him having soft raps (similar to ye) and this episode with push, i really dont see why people discredit so much. maybe cause of the singing, but phonte is loved? who is also a clear influence on him

there are a lot of basketball players that look up to mj, kareem, and prob even kobe and lebron that dont mean they wanna be the GOAT or think they can be.

its like yall take everything to the extreeeeme with this cat, if he just another pop rapper, no need to worry and talk about him so much. place him in g-eazy category and move on lol as a person who love music no matter who it come from, i hope he keeps makin it cause hes good at, rather hear him than gucci and migos

So you're telling me the man that rapped "last name ever, first name greatest"...."top 2 and I'm not 2"....who mentioned battling underground legend Murda Mook to prove who the better MC is....never had any interest in being the best out.
Aight breh, you got it.

I'm sure when he was on IG quoting MF DOOM lyrics he envisioned a future where his collabos with Lil Baby and BlocBoy JB make more noise than "Diplomatic Immunity".

And far as his peers, rappers, athletes, celebrities, etc....they been quiet as church mice since "The Story Of Adidon" dropped. If you compare it to the support he got directly after "Back To Back" it's like night and day.

If you listen to or use terrestrial radio as a gauge in 2018 I could see why you said that.

I'm outside. I was in Los Angeles when the album dropped and literally every time I was outside a car passed blasting on one of the tracks and been back in NYC for weeks now and the album is still omnipresent in the streets. Nobody is saying the music is pop hit status like drakes music but its getting heavy burn out here and to suggest nobody is listening to it you gotta be out of touch

every rapper flexes on tracks. i bet you really think migos run the ‘nawf’ too don’t you. :heh: what rapper doesn’t say they are the best/hardest/etc on their own tracks? like i said, do you think may take belief in rap too literally/to the extreme a little? you sound 12 and unable to separate entertainment from reality (that no one outside of message boards and twitter cares who’s the hardest/best if the music ain’t good)

drake got dissed and lost the battle. we can all acknowledge that. doesn’t mean no rapper will want him for features and people still aren’t listening to him just cause you don’t like him. losing a battle don’t make you a horrible musician and doesn’t kill a career and winning a battle doesn’t mean you will be more successful (ie nas) no matter how your emotions feel about it
