I think it comes down to preference. I don't think that's too wild of a take.

I think Rodman was better equipped to guard 1-5 than Draymond. That narrative has never really been true with Draymond as any time he went against a truly big center, Golden State would usually offer up a double team or have Draymond front them while providing help on the back side. When someone says a defender can guard someone in my head that should mean without help which Rodman did a lot of.

Rodman was a much much greater rebounder and a better on ball defender. Draymond I think is a much greater off ball/help defender. Dray is a better playmaker and scorer. Shooting wise Draymond is a better shooter because Rodman didn't really shoot but it's not like anybody respects Draymond as a shooter so he's shooting wide open, but still better than Rodman in that regard.

I think Rodman is a better at getting in opponent's heads and causing them to fukk up. Both could be fukk ups that got bad technicals for their own teams. I'd personally take Rodman but not mad at anybody wanting Dray over him.

If Rodman played in this era, he would develop an OK 3pt shot. He was not required to shoot a damn three in his days. He played defense, rebounded and he was one of the best ever at that. He played his role to perfection and funny thing is he never cost his team a championship unlike Dray who lost them 2016 finals and ran KD out after 3 seasons

Yeah people don’t take into account things like temperament when talking about players. Dennis was a wildcard but he didn’t do things detrimental to his team in important situations. Additionally Draymond ain’t frustrating Shaq. Given the uniqueness of his rebounding superiority (see the contract Houston just gave an aging one dimensional Adams), versatility on defense, underrated passing and better on court disposition I’m taking Dennis.

The problem is you’re now creating a mythical version of Rodman that didn’t actually exist. Sure maybe he could’ve been a good 3 pt shooter under different circumstances, but that wasn’t his game in reality

Anywho I think it’s all based on fit. I don’t think 89-91 Detroit is better with Draymond and I don’t think 16-18 GS is better with Rodman

Rodman in today’s game would be a beast. Bro played his role in a physical game and stood as a great. I don’t understand why Draymond is always talked about in these extremes. Bro a hall of famer. He is not Dennis Rodman . Rodman getting curry all them rebounds alone would get them those chips

I agree with Jennings and Young and think it's a reflection of how times have changed. Draymond is just a better basketball player and I think people are pretending like they see a difference in defensive ability unless rebounding is a part of how you evaluate defenders.

Draymond is better than Rodman at everything except regular season rebounding (Dray is better in the playoffs and Finals)

Rodman is a 6’6” cross dressing fakkit who only looked good against Frank Brickowski. He was a big bad boy rebel in the ‘90s when all it took was some tattoos and dyed hair to be edgy and dark. :skip:

We would laugh at this talentless fakkit in today’s era. :umad:
