I respect her music but she's a low level singer like aaliyah was...singing real soft and breathing all over the track = not really a good singer :manny:

i still dont get why her and Timbaland were a horrible fit.
Because she had zero swag and was completely out of her element doing shyt like that. If you want a ballad or traditional r&b song she's your girl. But that's all she could do and it's why her career faded.

Mariah Carey was real good at doing different shyt, appealing to multiple demographics. Brandy couldn't.

Afrodisiac is my favorite Brandy album, with Full Moon and Two Eleven following after.

In reference to a Full Moon song mentioned in OP, these two are my favorites on there:

Some favorites on Afrodisiac:

I love the whole album from beginning to end tbh. You can’t go wrong with any song on there.

Brandy was supposed to be Whitney ( they were pushing that image, even had Brandy and Whitney doing a movie together)

Aaliyah was the new Janet

Monica was the new Anita Baker

And Destiny Child was biting Allures image but DC surpassed Allure.

In that case Brandy already succeeded, you are forgetting what Whitney did in the pop lane, and how she was able to still navigate and make authentic rnb music. Plus overall singing wise she was the best of that generation vocally.

Put it this way Brandy lived up to being "next Whitney" more than anybody else you mentioned lived up to being the "next" of whoever they were supposed to be. Aaliyah was definitley not the next Janet,Monica wasn't the new Anita Baker, and well Allure isn't much to live up to. Brandy had more to live up to with Whitney being considered the goat by many, and she delivered the most:manny:

^Not to mention we heard how Whitney butchered songs as she got older, far worse than Brandy at Rays wedding, which wasn't that bad.
