:usure: ..... and :usure:

He's right though. There is definitely a lot of good in 1984, but society is much more inclined to follow the BNW model.

Look at all the things exposed about surveillance. They are right there in the media and social networks. People just don't care.

Whether or not they are conditioned not to care is a different question.

They are neck and neck right now....BNW is more flamboyantly out there, but 84 is in wings like :birdman:

The simple fact that we are and have been discussing this already proves 1984 is a fantasy in the modern world.

:patrice: :lupe: I'm not sure if you just got defrosted out of a cryongenic machine recently, but the last 12 years of laws/regs, that are polar opposites to the Bill of Rights, that have been put into place might disagree with you

Here's a relatively recent book ..... on the book ....

Big Brother: The Orwellian Nightmare Come True Paperback
by Mark Dice

Big Brother, Mark Dice details actual high-tech spy gadgets, mind-reading machines, government projects, and emerging artificial intelligence systems that seem as if they came right out of George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.

Orwell’s famous book was first published in 1949, and tells the story of a nightmarish future where citizens have lost all privacy and are continuously monitored by the omniscient Big Brother surveillance system which keeps them obedient to a totalitarian government.

The novel is eerily prophetic as many of the fictional systems of surveillance described have now become a reality. Mark Dice shows you the scary documentation that Big Brother is watching you, and is more powerful than you could imagine.

- Surveillance Cameras
- Global Positioning Systems
- Radio Frequency Identification
- Mind Reading Machines
- Neural Interfaces
- Psychotronic Weapons
- Information Technology
- Orwellian Government Programs
- The Nanny State
- Orwellian Weapons
- Artificial Intelligence
- Cybernetic Organisms
- A Closer Look at 1984
- Social Structure
- The Control of Information
- Perpetual State of War
- The Personification of the Party
- Telescreens
- A Snitch Culture
- Relationships
- A Heartless Society
- Foreign Countries Painted as Enemies
- Power Hungry Officials
- An Erosion of the Language
- Double Think
- And More!

Both 1984 and Brave New World are accurate. The more authoritarian approach was taken in communist countries, while the entertain and distract people approach was taken in Western nations.

Other than Atlas Shrugged and 1984 this is probably the most important book in shaping my world view. We live in an anakin skywalker country, we have become what we promised to destroy and raped the freedom this country was founded on protecting.

The scary thing about BNW opposed to 1984 is that huxley was a new world order elitist, BNW was basically laughing in peoples faces.

The fact that this is published out in the open and that you allowed to post it disproves the "Strictly-1984" viewpoint does it not?

But the fact that most of the population doesn't give a shyt or doesn't want to be informed is a positive towards the BNW viewpoint, correct?

10 Years Ago Your Were A Looney Toon 'Spiracy Nutjob for thinking such actions/laws/regulations/rulings would ever happen in 'Murica.... now you're moving the goal post and throwing in the word "strictly" to give yourself some breathing room....

Its started small and now we are looking at 15 rulings showing the direction of this rampage on what we were taught were safe/secure/1st World rights... ... Its a snowball my breh... you don't see that??.. :dwillhuh::whoo:

What about today's ruling? That is very anti law enforcement.

You still didn't address any of the points I made either. In 1984, you couldn't make this post. Now go ahead and post this on your Facebook or Twitter and see how many people care.

1 ruling vs these 15... ::patrice:.. its a start .. but :ld: I did address what you said, by noting how you used the word "strictly". You seem to be insinuating its not "completely 1984"... and you're right, but the fact that you have to put that word in there proves that the goal post is moving and the snowball has been getting bigger.

If you read my posts here you know I'm with you on government overreach on these matters. Our only difference is that it could begin to come to an end the minute the population as a whole gives a fukk. People don't give a shyt. You know how many people, even intelligent people, who I come across all the time that don't know shyt about their local, city or County governments? People who don't know their rights? They don't give a shyt.
