Always find this topic intriguing. Though I usually just enjoy the #fukkery, and make light of everything that happens, I find I'm still old school/markish with what a heel should be (ie: a clear cut demonic, chickenshyt and/or cheating a$$hole.)
It's one thing if Brey (or any heel for that matter) is getting cheered in isolated incidents because the crowd is forced to choose between him and another heel (ie: Wyatts vs Shield when they were both heel factions), or if he's going up against an anti-smark face such as Cena/Sheamus in a smark dominated venue; however, there is no reason he should be getting cheered by regular fans (ie: KIDS) in attendance. You got him calling out the city for that cheap pop, along with full on sing-a-longs, and now with the camera lights during their intros. If the plan is not for him to be a face then he is doing a terrible job as a heel, period. You'd think booking would have told him to chill with that shyt too, heh. I fukks with Brey but it's not making sense. I understand the crowd will ultimately dictate who they want as a face/heel but this is a character that shouldn't even be crossing over into the other side, especially when no distinct moment has even happened yet (ie: turning on a fellow Wyatt or saving a face.)
Got too many of these heels prematurely doing fan-friendly things mid-program to put themselves in a tweener role, bordering face. Doesn't work when trying to build a proper heel vs face program, when they are pandering to the crowd.
There was a time you could even throw out 3 heel factions against each other and they would all get heat and heavily be booed (DX/Nation/Hart Foundation comes to mind.) Guess that's the difference between then and now. Already starting to sound like a

wrestling fan brehs, wow.
