I’m sure the guy in my avi will be happy to demonstrate

Carnival is a beloved institution in Brazil, a wild, sensual celebration that dates back centuries. But to the country’s new socially conservative president, Jair Bolsonaro, it is a scandalous affair that symbolizes just how much the country has lost its moral compass.

And so he wasn’t about to let his first Carnival come and go without lashing out at its more extreme elements. Late Tuesday night, just as the festivities were winding down, Bolsonaro posted a video showing a scantily dressed man in leather appearing to touch himself in front of a crowd before bending down to be urinated on by another reveler during a Carnival procession.

“I don’t feel comfortable showing this but we have to expose the truth so that people are aware and can take precaution,” Bolsonaro wrote when posting the video on Twitter. “This is what many street processions have become in Carnival. Draw your own conclusions.”

On Wednesday morning, after his tweet went viral, Bolsonaro riled up Brazilians further with a follow-up tweet in which he asked, “What’s a golden shower?”

Ever since he launched his presidential campaign last year, Bolsonaro has been a lightning rod of controversy in Brazil. His comments on race, gender and education have deepened the divide on social media and in the traditional press between his ultra-conservative base and the socially liberal left.

from signifying the beginning of a religious commitment to openly pissing on fellow gyrating participants...there's nothing fascist about "lashing out at its more extreme elements"

If you know in Brazil (I lived there) how many of its upper class (and even middle class) married men have mistresses and engage legal prostitutes then you would know that while Carnival behavior is often immoral, it is hardly the downfall of Brazilian morality. Drunk carnival idiots are easy targets

whatever you say Uncle Hotep.
...could I assume this is a new term to reference one of the normal buzzwords?(cac, nazi, koon, russian bot, fascist)

remember, the only type of people in the word...leaders, followers, and spectators

Notice you're the only person using labels to evoke/manipulate me into applying whatever stereotypes I may have about certain people, that I think fit those labels....which is the trappings of identity politics
Not only doesn't the President mention any labels to manipulate me, the article included the word "extreme" to point out that these pissers aren't the norm

But instead of agreeing with this obvious and overall positive sentiment about the carnival, yall are more concerned with being disagreeable. So you're willing to downplay and dismiss criticism of gyrating pissers? lol

You know, I don't mind everything Bolsonaro does (I support the loosening of gun ownership rules for example) but it is always entertaining when his supporters cry "fake news or "identify politics" as if saintly Jair is above all such things. If you think identity politics, especially towards evangelicals and certain parts of Brazil's population, isn't Bolsonaro's bread and butter I really can't say much here.

The whole point of tweeting that video was to cue outrage and emotion amongst his base. We have a long history of evangelical moral crusades in the US which is why we are supreme skeptical of comments like this. They always only come for certain types of "bad" people. That was the point of my comment to be clear.
