This dude is definitely worse than Trump. Folks are saying "Brazil's Trump". This guy is more like Duturte. A type of guy Trump wish he can be but never will, thankfully.

South America should be absurdly wealthy and have a great living standard. Governmental corruption and autocratic dictators every step of the way has destroyed a region that should contain multiple global powers. It's so sad.

The only possible and hope and silver lining i have in all this, based on what folks are saying he was like in parliment for 30 years, is he is more bark than bite. But the hatred and fanaticism being feed by him is still horrific and also I have little hope he will let go of the totalitarian power his supporters seem willing to give him in some effort to perserve a democracy.
