Breaking a psychological Barrier

My psychological barrier was benching 225 for reps without a spotter. For some reason, if I was in the gym by myself, psychologically, I would not attempt 225 even though I could comfortably do it with a spotter.

When I finally did it? I was :smugdraper:

Today I added 10 pounds and did some low reps without a spotter. I have also increased weights in my other routines due to this accomplishment.

What was your psychological barrier?

Benching 405.

Something about being under those 4 plates was so intimidating.

I would throw up 395 for reps but be to shook to slap that plate up there.

One day I just said fukk it, and hit that shyt

Benching anything over 185. shyt is soo unnatural to me and it hurts for me to perform reps. :flabbynsick:

Deadlifting 400lbs...I'm afraid I might blow out my back. :manny:
