A lot of people didn’t want Rodgers last year.. dude was very solid towards the end of the year

That Achilles injury took a while to knock the rust off, and the Jets would have been in the playoff hunt if they had a solid kicker (dude lost them about 4-5 games). That Jets running game fell of a cliff, Hall was a shell of himself

He’s still a top 12-15 QB in the NFL, and who knows he could recapture some of the magic with another offseason post achilles
Ah you're a LeRodgers apologist too, it all makes sense now

How? By saying his essentially an average QB in this league?

His contract is actually a bargain as well. He’d be the lowest paid starter in the NFL beginning of the year. Essentially making the same amount of $$ per year as Justin Fields

I came in here to say the same…. I respect Tomlin too but AR bout to get him fired…..

this was stupid move that will bear no fruit
What was the better move then?

And this is with someone who says “Feilds should have kept playing” but Tomlin stuck to his word with Wilson and crapped out.

Seriously though, who else could a Steelers fan want at QB?

For all the doom and gloomers.
Last I checked he's never been an injury risk and recovered well from his only major injury from 2 years ago. So the hurt by week 4 comments are dumbfounded

2nd, his stats from last year werent bad considering being on a 5 win team

should’ve just drafted someone…. hell if Shedeur is like that….. gonna be crazy passing him up….

But there probably is some draft talent that in a few years all the teams that needs QBs but passed up as their spot gonna be like WTF

I really wonder what the Steelers FO talk about when they are planning the season.

Do they sit there and just plan 1 year ahead and say this year we need to end up with the same record as last year and hopefully it's enough for us to get to the first wildcard round and get knocked out?

Or do they believe that their defense is solid enough to have some luck in the playoffs like Eli's Giants?

I mean what was the alternative for the past two years?

Every QB was snatched up in round 1 last year. And this year's qb class was :trash:.

So other than purposely tanking, what exactly should they have done?

I’m talking the past years where they’ve basically been over performing, since Big Ben started getting flabby.

It seems as if the aim is always just to maintain. No risk taking etc.

I mean I’m not a GM kr criticizing what they do, just wonder what they are doing, what the plan is, how they foresee the future etc

As a Steeler fan, the biggest mistake was holding onto Big Ben during his last 2 flabby years. But the organization wanted to give him a proper send off (as opposed to what they did with Bradshaw).

The plan is to use all of the draft capital they have in 2026 to get a QB. Which will be a much better class, and the draft will also be in PGH. I think most reasonable fans understand the vision.

Rodgers is simply a bridge QB.
