Bush's father also messed up the economy and Bill Clinton was able to beat him with "It's the Economy Stupid". Trump left office with a crashed economy from Covid and Biden beat him. Now we are on pace to have another bad Republican Economy. We are a country of hundreds of millions. Only creating 22k jobs a month definitely isn't good. Prices still aren't going down, inflation is kicking most Americans in the a$$.

This. It can take years to undo an economic mess. If you happen to get in while the mess is just getting straightened out, it doesn't matter if you do absolutely nothing: people will say they do a good job. Republicans have this fake "Salt-of-the-earth" veneer that feels like common sense to the average voter whereas the best Liberals with great educations sound like they are always talking down to them. There is an inherent advantage because people with low educations love similarly dim representatives. There really is an archetype they follow that is wildly accurate.
