The job market has been shyt since 2023.
In 2021 it was easy to get a job. So easy that people were ghosting jobs. Tech industry was over hiring.
But in 2022, companies who were constantly understaffed, adapted and learned to operate with less people. Tech companies started correcting over hiring.
And now companies have still learned to operate with minimum staff because productivity is basically the same. AI emerged as Al alternative to hiring junior devs in tech.
And the cherry on top, is social media. A lot of people began monetizing it which means less people are applying for jobs. Companies have adapted to that as well.
The Fed really didn’t know how to deal with the pandemic or the aftermath either.
Sadly this economy is in danger of becoming the new norm at this point, unless there is a philosophical shift.
I think another big thing was the fed cut interest rate in 2020-2021, which allowed companies to go on spending spree and that increased hiring drastically but then rates went up and hiring slowed down
She tried to tell people what was gonna happen, but, hey, Americans get what we got coming to us.

It is only when shyt totally collapses that some shyt will change.
as bad as 2016 and 2000 were, 2024is flat out inexcusable.
