I always said if I ever lived in NYC this would be one of my worst fears, buildings randomly collapsing. They’re all so old, especially the projects buildings. And there are so many buildings that it has to be impossible for the city to keep them ALL up to code. I’m shocked that this is just no starting to happen.

However, it does speak to the quality of the work put into these buildings. When you look at a relatively brand new building like the Miami condo that collapsed a few years ago killing 100s of people, and then look at these 80-100 year old buildings in NYC that barely have so much as a scratch, there has to be something said about that quality.

NYC (Manhattan in particular) is a mishmash of bullshyt. I don't understand how anyone lives there who isn't megarich and can just hang out in their apartment/house all day ordering Michelin starred meals, hoes, etc. Every day is aggravation and fukkery if you're actually out there walking the streets doing stuff. Constant noise, crazy people everywhere, smells/bad air, the feeling someone is having way more fun around the corner, etc.
