Because the original recommendation was based on the stupid idea that the willfully unvaccinated would all of sudden have a change of heart and get vaccinated so they don't have to wear masks. It was a failure of social policy, not science.

No i never said that. The vaccine DRASTICALLY reduces the odds of getting hospitalized or dying from the virus to almost zero. But there is no such thing as zero risk with any disease. At some point personal risk assessment needs to take place. If you're willfully unvaccinated, whether or not you get infected by going to a fukking bar or concert, is not my problem.
