I think that's the worst part. Millenials grew up in a time where no matter how elections or politics played out, it was typically always business as usual at the end of the day. This era we're in today is something different. A whole nother level I don't think any of us have ever seen in our lifetimes. It feels like a powder keg about to blow especially when the president is stoking the flames even higher. I don't see how you can possibly turn this around at this point
The “Powder Keg” in this example isn’t Charlie Kirk. He was just a random target, chosen because the killer thought he wasn’t “conservative enough.” The real Powder Keg is
American White Males.
As America approaches its 250th birthday, many white men feel like they’ve slipped to the bottom rung, grouped with everyone else: Blacks, Hispanics, LGBTQ folks, and others. Instead of recognizing that wealthy white elites have always been the ones keeping them down, a lot of them focus on pushing down the people around them. It’s a way to feel superior.
In today’s world, being white alone isn’t a free pass anymore. It’s not like it once was, where just being white could land you a good job. Now it’s real competition. Some white men are doing the right thing and adjusting to that reality. But a large portion still believes America’s wealth and opportunities are theirs alone, not to be shared with minorities.
When people who are used to power and influence start losing both, they don’t let go quietly. That’s why you’re seeing violent backlash.
