China trying to crush the us markets. China on top
It doesnt have to be this way. If somehow america is able to:
1. Regulate social media so people aren't living in different realities and unable to agree on anything.
2. Enforce labor law by going after instances of wage theft and aggressively punishing union busting tactics.
3. Bring back the marginal tax rate of the 50s and earlier.
4. Enforce anti monopoly law and break up conglomerates.
5. Write a law clearly identifying which jobs an employer is prohibited from automating.
6. Student loan forgiveness.
7. Universal health care
8. Empower the FCC to go after bullshyt, scams, and journalistic malpractice based on an international framework of standards.
9. Raise the minimum wage, and create a federal jobs program.
10. Mandatory 3 week vacation MINIMUM for all employees. You cant tell me a company can't find casual or part time workers in a country with the level of unemployment we are experiencing right now. And its just not people who never completed high school, we've got people with masters degrees driving cabs and shyt.

We would be back on track.

We need unity as a country and right now division is just too lucrative. Theres just too much money right now in getting people to believe in shyt that makes them feel good but isn't true, and the average American can't afford to travel. If people had enough money and time off to actually see how others are living in the world, they'll understand how they're being ripped off.

Since 1978, and adopting the state capitalism model it uses today, China has lifted 800 million people out of extreme poverty.

Imagine the entire population of America, Mexico, and Canada going from the current minimum wage to double that amount in 40 years. No other country in history has done this. If youre a developing country and looking at who to deal with, you've got one country on one end of things that is embracing white supremacy right in front of your face and humiliating your representatives.

Then you've got another country that is making cheap cars, solar panels, railways etc. That wants to do business with you. Youre likely going to want to fukk with that country.

Our global approval ratings are going down and morons in this country think it's a good thing or don't care because they see anyone who isnt like them as inferior. America's racism is literally hurting it's development. I disagree with your perspective on the jack ma situation because Alibaba is still very profitable and has only continued to grow. The government warned him and told him to stay in his lane. He thought "this is a billion dollar IPO, theyd never risk this much damage to the economy" he thought he was in america where people like him run shyt and they made a public example of him.
We're making the same point lol

Wasn't a ban already in place with Trump limiting what kind of video cards China can buy? There was a video about how the smuggling of cards gets into China. But the video was taken down by Bloomberg.

They dropped the bag in front of TSMC and Nvidia engineers. Probably had people who got hired there, rose up high enough to get enough information and then bounced.

Most people dont think about corporate espionage and the fact that there are people who train and recruit others to act as spies for private companies.

If china is saying "yeah we don't need that nvidia shyt" it might mean rather than being 3 or 4 or 5 years behind, they may secretly have made a breakthrough.

I am not shocked at all. People really do not grasp how huge the population of china is. There's approx. What? 347 million Americans? China's population is 1.4 BILLION. You could duplicate America's population and it still wouldn't even constitute HALF of chinas population and that's without counting through millions of Chinese living in America, Canada, the UK, Australia, or other parts of Asia like Korea or Thailand.

And their government is largely made up of people with scientific backgrounds while ours is made up of lawyers, veterans, investors and business owners. If the chinese government says "we are going to spend the next 5 years developing Artificial Intelligence" they can just do it. No lobbying, no media circus, just action. They decide something is important and they pump trillions of dollars and millions of hours of manpower into getting it done. This is how america used to operate. This is like listening to someone do an impression of Jay Z. The bars and flow remind you of when you first heard Jay Z, it brings you back. Then you hear a modern Jay song and it just makes you want to go back and listen to that othe rapper again. It's crazy that a country that calls itself communist is outdoing America in capitalism.

The corporate democrats and Republicans are not the people we need right now if we are going to beat china. But I fear it might already be over. It's like finding yourself lost in a forest and the only two people who claim to know the way out cant agree with each other and neither of them actually knows how to use a map or compass and the last time they were in that forest was when they were 4 years old.

China has in a decade built out electricity grid matching the size of two Americas. They have recently begun construction on a single hydropower project in Tibet that will add power generation equal to UK's entire annual output. Chinese electricity prices, despite AI build out and other manufacturing and development causing soaring demand, are DROPPING. What's up with power bills in the US and EU..?

AI war is over before it even started.

I still think China is in a demographic time bomb and weren't as great of innovators as the US, plus being authoritarian I thought it stymied innovation and freedom.

I still think those things, but the remainder of the free world is seemingly ready to align with them especially as the US is basically run by a mob boss; less Capone and more Peter Gotti than anything.

They're taking the approach, run your country as you want, we just want our economy and our population to prosper. The US on the orher hand, is just trying to very transparently to only enrich the 1%. This administration just doesn't realize nothing is set in stone and the world order was always fragile, especially when you have a bunch of dumbass, deep throating, yes men aligned with a severely cognitively declined narcissist in Trump.

One thing I patently got wrong was the Jack Ma situation. No businessman should ever be above the state. This is not to say the state is ever infallible, and although I don't think he was a malicious actor, that kind of overreach is why we have CEOs dictating policy right now.

People that say this I believe are just repeating what they've heard and haven't actually looked at China's demographic age distribution charts. The one child policy was bad but it's been decades since it was ended and its effects are clearly reversing. Their demographics starting to look completely fine.

The rest of what you said I agree.

The rest of what you said I agree.

Name one thing in this thread that's not said by the batshyt crazy wing of The Coli that hasn't come from a scholar, journalist, economist, businessman, or politician...

Difference is I look to historical examples to contextualize and corroborate the macro effects of the phenomena, and even then I pressure test it by looking up the complete opposite of the narrative. No difference than what someone like a Ray Dalio does.

Eastern Europe/USSR collapsed partially due in part because of the sheer amount of people who died and weren't replaced after world war 2. Part of the reason Russia is invading it's old satellite states is to have more population to draw resources and labor from.

China's 1 child policy ended, yes... in 2015. That's 10 years, one decade. When did the 1 child policy start... formally in 1980. That's 35 years. Chinese didn't suddenly say let's get to building these families again. The culture changed. They don't want big families. I say robots won't solve it, because they aren't a consumer economy. Having robots do the work, doesn't move money around within the elder communities who are too old to work. The ownership class hordes the money in this circumstance.

Moreover, everyone talks about the US's debt problem, no one ever seems to mention China's debt problem... and surprise, surprise... their debt to GDP ratio is worse than OURS. Housing... whole families have to save to purchase housing over there... granted their economy isn't set up to be an "ownership" economy, but therein lies the problem.

All this being said, at the current rate China will supercede the US, because we're just fukking stupid. They won't replace the US 1 for 1, dollar for dollar for some decades. They aren't a consumer economy... YET... they ultimately need to have other countries become their manufacturing center so they can become a consumer economy to offset the losses of the West. This is why they are backing off becoming a regional dictatorial hegemon. They need to build a coalition. The coalition allows them to diversify their economy through specialization... and surprise, surprise again... this will be globalization 2.0.

China's demographic chart for reference...

Zeihan keeps talking about that, but with China investing in AI but also robots

The demographic time bomb isn't that much of an issue.

Here we go with the dumb shyt.

Till they give us reparations.

All this ai shyt will put us in damger as black people. As the software coding will emulate.
their lack of empathy and awareness towards us.
They will.not steal the robotics more than likely from the detroit breh.
Or make it so,...they box that brother out the industry.
from his break thru.
