In December 2023, Mahdawi asked Columbia professor Shai Davidai, a controversial pro-Israel figure at the school, to get coffee. The two met, but Mahdawi later said that Davidai left in the middle of the coffee. Less than two months after the meeting, Davidai posted a video of Mahdawi to Twitter in a thread characterizing him and other protest organizers as antisemitic and pro-Hamas. (Davidai did not immediately respond to a request for comment.)

Since then, Mahdawi became a focus of attacks from a member of Congress and Zionist groups like Canary Mission and Betar.

They're openly enforcing a blacklist crafted by a foreign-aligned group to punish a student for exercising his right to free speech. They're not even pretending anymore - this is the state wielding its power to silence dissent. It's a textbook authoritarian move. I hope people don't shrug their shoulders over this, because this isn't going to stop at one student or one protest. This is about normalizing state repression under the guise of security. And expanding that to target their "enemies." All of them.

No matter what side you on this is ugly. Yeah, we been the target but the moment they try to ship an FBA I hop yall are ready to get buck.
Nah, we'll be more concerned with the NBA playoffs and what next rapper will be brought up on Rico charges.

As Black ppl, we still value entertainment/gossip way too much. I'm afraid it will take something catastrophic for us to get buck. If they send an FBA over there, initially we will be outraged. After that, back to our regularly scheduled program

I said it before, I'll say it again, because I'm 100% serious. I told the FBI straight up, if dudes come towards me masked up and I don't know they are law enforcement, I'm shooting. I stand on that shyt until my death.

fukk Israel, fukk Trump, and fukk any bytch nikka that supports them pink bytches. I'd gladly send a few of them to meet their maker if they ain't presenting badges before saying anything to me.

I put that shyt on God.

What would a domestic enemy of the Constitution look like? What kind of actions would we expect them to take?

(Many Americans are dumb, they think the answer to this question is that a domestic enemy would begin by saying, “I hate the Constitution and am a domestic enemy of it”).
