So in making this deal with the Republicans. Here's what these cowardly centrist Democrats achieved.
1) They undercut the blue wave that happened last week. I won't say invalidate but they nerfed it's impact. America sent a message and they ignored it.
2) They reached across the aisle to a party that has been remolded in the image of its king Donald Trump. They are not a party that acts in good faith and would easily go back on their word. They couldn't even get any guarantees out of this which is more damning.
3).Because of Democrats inability to market and control messaging. The will get no credit for compromising, the department of propaganda will blame them for using hungry people as leverage to give illegals healthcare and to top it off people who were ambivalent about the Democrats and their general inability to stand on business have this reminder that will carry into the mid terms.
