Most moderate/establishment Democrats like Schumer are all bark but no bite.

Always feel the need to clean up republican fukk ups to maintain the status quo/keep this system running(which i understandthe rationale). Or they always willing to compromise with the Republicans despite that never being a 2 way street.

No let this bytch bottom out. Take it all the way home:mjlit::ohlawd:

Look, I think the Democrats' strategy of standing down was good and well during the month of October, when things didn't get out of hand with SNAP. You know, people received their benefits on time, and nobody was suffering and struggling, wondering how they were going to put food on their tables, but when November 1st hit, that's when things in the Dems' strategy took a turn.

Federal workers took the hit, but for most of them, income-wise, they should've been able to manage for the time being. What had happened to make the Dems come to this conclusion is that they didn't foresee Trump and the Republicans weaponizing SNAP as political leverage, basically letting millions of Americans go hungry, sitting anxiously in despair, wondering whether they'll be able to feed themselves and/or their families.

Democrats did not think the Trump administration and Republicans would take it that far, considering in past shutdowns, presidents, whether they be Democrat or Republican, have always funded SNAP in the midst of a shutdown to ensure the American people can still eat and put food on the table. Since he did the unthinkable and allowed benefits to be delayed for the first time in history, that somewhat screwed the Dems' long-term plans of standing pat for the ACA credits.

A lot of you may feel they should've stood still for as long as Trump stood still, but the truth is that's a bit delusional and tone deaf, as there's no way to justify letting millions of people go hungry, even in the name of healthcare credits, affordable rates, etc. I feel like some of the base is soo caught in trying to one-up Trump and his supporters, specifically just for the sake of Red vs Blue, that they're somewhat oblivious to the harm they're also contributing to the situation.

The Dems held on for as long as they could but clearly realized that letting this go on is just making matters worse for those already suffering and going hungry, even if Trump and 'em still don't pass the subsidies at the end of January, Democrats could still create new healthcare stipulations once they regain some power in Washington, whether that's through the midterms and/or the '28 presidency. In the meantime, by ending the shutdown, SNAP recipients will no longer have to squirm at the thought of not having food to eat, and Trump can't use their hunger for his advantage anymore.

End of the day Trump and republicans showed everyone they are ghouls willing to starve people to ruin their healthcare. I honestly think the republicans fukked themselves politically on all of this and do not have an off ramp to avoid losing a significant amount of seats in 2026.

WEAKKKKKKK AF :heh:

Americans voted for this. Let Trump and his po azz low income "middle America" base stomach growl for a little then run campaign ads that remind them TRUMP REFUSED THEN BLOCKED SNAP PAYMENTS which is a factual thing.

Your gonna cave in for SNAP but what good is that when MAGA already passed legislation to gut the program AND now will pass legislation to increase Healthcare premiums double fold?

"So to take Bush down, Clinton’s team drew up a plan to pump Trump up. Shortly after her kickoff, top aides organized a strategy call, whose agenda included a memo to the Democratic National Committee: “This memo is intended to outline the strategy and goals a potential Hillary Clinton presidential campaign would have regarding the 2016 Republican presidential field,” it read.

“The variety of candidates is a positive here, and many of the lesser known can serve as a cudgel to move the more established candidates further to the right. In this scenario, we don’t want to marginalize the more extreme candidates, but make them more ‘Pied Piper’ candidates who actually represent the mainstream of the Republican Party,” read the memo.

“Pied Piper candidates include, but aren’t limited to:
• Ted Cruz
• Donald Trump
• Ben Carson
We need to be elevating the Pied Piper candidates so that they are leaders of the pack and tell the press to [take] them seriously."

Glad i was able to provide clarity:respect:

It’s not a win.People are still are that both sides shyt or still pretending to not understand what has caused this. If Dems care about the future of this country they have to turn their back and let people Starve for a few months:yeshrug:. I honestly think if we don’t get off this current trajectory in this nation within 20 years other nations will be doing food drops and other humanitarian activites here and we will never recover. People have been punched in the mouth with the truth and if they won’t put up their guards up, protect themselves and listen then they deserve to be Knocked out.

At least your dumb ass is standing on business:wow:

The rest of these coli liberal loyalist have been on here non stop talking about "If they die, they die". And how their entire master plan was how Dems should sit back and let Americans suffer since thats what America voted for. Eventually Republicans would be hated and everyone would love the Democrats again.

Fast forward,at the very first sign of trouble and its "The Dems had no choice but to fold like a cheap suit. Its whats best for the people:mjcry:"

Either your bleeding hearts have activated again. Or your just schilling your asses off and trying to deflect about the Dems folding#Cope. Weird yall suddenly care about the people youve been saying Dems should allow to suffer for months now.

And i know alot of poor people, and none of them have even asked to borrow money or get a meal. So this idea they couldnt hold out longer if they wanted to is questionable:respect:

The news headlines were literally that Trump was telling states to give back SNAP benefits!!! The corporate Dems are so spineless and feckless! They literally could have held out for another 2 weeks... Because now what was the point?! Most people are dumb they will forget this stuff come midterms and what's worse Trump and the cronies will just flip it and make it a Democrat issue that your health insurance is going up. This was an all time fumble :francis:

Devils advocate these last two months had made things more clear for people than at any point in the last 12 years.

Trump and republicans poll numbers are in the toilet. Everywhere you go people are blaming republicans for the shutdown, healthcare price increases, and trying to starve people on SNAP.

Also everyone is talking about Trump demolishing the White House, giving Argentina $40 billion, and giving the price of everything going up.

The ICE raids got people pissed too.

Since that motherfukker Kirk Died the republicans been nose diving.

Look at that election last week. People are definitely paying attention.

That’s exactly why they shouldn’t have caved, hardcore maga will always be hardcore maga but this is the first I can remember Fox News and republicans publicly not agreeing with what they’re doing.

I disagree. I think people connect republicans to rising health care cost alone and everybody is looking at them like they are wasting our taxes, and things are unaffordable.

The republicans are polling horrible and now they got to vote on the Epstein files and they got to vote on a democratic health bill that they can’t add riders too in order to hide that they want it to expire.

There is a chance they don’t shoot themselves in the foot and pass subsidies and if they don’t them voting against healthcare will be on their record.
