"centrists" are the ones who win the elections where it counts

purple areas. electoral college
if progressives want to be taken more seriously, they need to start getting it done outside of safe Dem districts and dark blue areas
Nah, thats not how it goes because the Overton window has shifted. People on the right think of living wages as socialism. Hell, communism, and they don't even know what that shyt means
The way out of this is framing. Lemme take an example you are *intimately* familiar with:
Republicans wail about a trans athlete in the midwest (one of 200k athletes) participating in a sport...not a collegiate sport, just sports.
What Dems SHOULD do is not side-step the issue, highlight the folks in that city who are ok with it (many had to be otherwise the athlete would not be on the team) AND highlight how things like monitoring periods:
Va. Republicans shelve bill to protect menstrual data from search warrants
and the genitals of children
https://ohiohouse.gov/news/democrat...nital-exams-to-play-high-school-sports-110422
and be upfront and loud with how weird that shyt is. Go in on how incel-like, and anti-freedom they are, but keep it business like JUST like the Republicans do. Republicans would have you believe Democrats are multi-colored haired weirdos (no disrespect to them) when that isn't even a fraction of the party. The Democrats always let Republicans frame the argument which is why the "weird" shyt popped off in 2024. Rarely do Democrats uniformly label them as something rather than calling them colleagues.
When chasing progressive goals, you can't do it with charts, you have to paint a picture. Republicans win with narratives (again, how many purple haired liberals do you really know but they have been using that trope for 20 years?) when Dems try to explain away. That gets the college educated crowd. That does shyt for the majority of America which is pretty dumb. Less Encyclopedia, more 140-characters or less Twitter.
Want union sentiment to grow? Talk about how your company laid you off but made quarterly profits that were all-time highs.
Want to make college free? Literally talk about how it used to be for state schools.
Want climate action? Talk about the jobs it creates, how the old industries are dying, and how it can reboot rural areas economies who currently have nothing.
Framing and not letting the Republicans steer the convo is how progressivism wins. Always conceding the points so they can take their stupid shyt to the airwaves is how you end up with people asking you if the USA is sending 72 million dollars to another country for transgender surgeries (a family member asked me about this stupid shyt a few months ago when DOGE was cutting and I never forgot...thats how good Republicans are at bullshytting.)
