This is egregious.
Stephen A Smith is not a journalist. He's not a broadcaster. He's not a reporter, not a real one anyway. He's not a sports historian or documentarian.
He's an opinionated, louder version of Colin Cowherd or Bill Simmons who happens to be on television.
He's one step up from being a blogger, though I suppose with an extremely high profile.
I suppose if the numbers indicate that he draws enough advertising dollars, he's "worth" 20 million dollars a year.
But on so many levels, a person like this should not earn that kind of money. If you were going to create your own earth and you built roads and cities and jobs for your civilization to function and thrive, at no point would you ever set the rules so a fukkin dweeb who gives sports opinions would earn 20 million dollars a year.

SAS is a Republican shill and has been a c00n many a time, but I will say he has helped many black folks come up and will give you an interview to grow your platform.
He used to call into random podcasts that were probably getting 100 listens and was giving them interviews back in the day. Probably doesn’t have the time to do that now but he has been about putting people on.

SAS and other sports analyst out here peddling and promoting sports betting. The same sports betting that they have blatant conflict of interest in and can easily manipulate to viewers with their talking points and rhetoric especially with how SAS loves to bring up his "sources".

I don't think people understand how popular Stephen A Smith is. He works for the biggest sports channel, has a huge social media following (5 million IG, 6 Million Twitter, 950k youtube). Anybody who goes into a negotiating room with those numbers is gonna come out on top. I give SAS credit too for being able to transition into the social media/podcasting space. Yea a lot of older people have done it, but they haven't been as successful.
