That these seizures are not planned (certainly not by the traffickers, though it is likely this seizure was not random but part of ongoing probe) and the price of 15,000 kilos even in Colombia at about 5k apiece is 75 million. Now maybe, some top level boss will take the loss in stride (often these are pooled resources) but no one shrugs this off.

Chapo had his pilot/compa flying around for hours in a bullshyt little Cessna, off Mazatlan rattling around, to look for 600 kilos that had been tossed off a go fast boat, after an interdiction effort by the Mexican Navy. 600 kilos, he was obsessed about recovering for weeks, the pilot was so scared he was saying he would do anything for Chapo, but he wouldn't go looking again.
