I do believe that in a PG/ AD scenario, they should be able to recoup around 50-65% of every game you don't play once you've hit a certain amount of games missed. Max deals should come with caveats like this just to prevent check stealing

The supermax is fine the way it is. Just make it more difficult in who qualifies for it.
Besides, the owners could have theoretically said no to giving out those deals. I mean the Clippers essentially did.
Let's not forget that Philly also did the same thing in giving PJ Tucker 3 years fully guaranteed at age 37 and why he's still in the league till this day.

This isn’t discussed enough imo. A lot of trash front offices that used player empowerment as an excuse for their own ineptitude. Ironically, you could say the whole player empowerment era was birthed off failing front offices.
