Kidd have to have sweet talked his way into this with Prokhorov cuz this just reeks of something he would sign off on to get some publicity and press. Maybe this works out or maybe it won't. But unless they were gonna get Phil or Jerry Sloan to come back I don't see anymore of a risk then them hiring an unproven assistant. I just don't know if guys who played against Kidd as recently as this season will be able to take him seriously as a coach. Unless he comes in there with a drill sergeant like mentality. But this could end up being the best thing as far as Deron Williams career is concerned.

If and when KG retires, he'll have an ownership stake in the T'wolves he can have.

As for this hire, high risk. I feel the same way I did when the Warriors hired Mark Jackson fresh out the booth. Not a fan of the hire.

What makes this hire sketchier is the fact that he's looking at Dave Wohl as an assistant. He's the guy that assisted Kurt Rambis to a 32-132 record. If Lawrence Frank is one of the guys I guess that's cool, but it's gotta be awkward to be an assistant on the team you used to coach.

The real coach of the Nets is Deron Williams. Jason Kidd's just gonna be that lifeline that he can talk to and an extra set of technicals in case shyt gets crazy

gonna be a failure like when magic was the coach of the lakers, coaching used to be about x's and os, now its just about who can motivate and cuddle the players

It's a bold move and I don't understand it... but let me say that I'm willing to sit back and see how it plays out.

If dude takes them to the promised land a lot of yall are gonna be quoted in an upped thread with the  smiley

If Kidd works as hard as a coach as he did a player we will be fine. It's a high risk move don't get me wrong but it's a high reward as well, especially if he gets a Lawrence Frank as his assistant. Not to mention we need an offensive minded coach, we got a good defense already, Jason Kidd can help out biggest weakness, ball movement. This is a more practical move than I think people are giving Proky credit for.

Coaching in the NBA was never about x and o

It's about having the best players play at their best.

You can draw up all the Xs and Os you want. The great players are going to do what ever the fukk they want to do.

All coaches do is control timeouts

Phil said in his first book Kobe broke off plays all the time.

Did he ever bench him for someone that would run the plays that are called?
