The fallacy starts with thinking that will make a difference. Anecdotal evidence proves otherwise. The fact is a so called "black" officer isn't any less likely to victimize the black community than a white cop is. That reason is because of the systemic issue of racism in the police force. They have and always will placate to the powers that be. Black officers are just as aware that they can brutalize the black community with impunity as white cops and do so accordingly. Every recent police shooting that happened here in Chicago that caused an uproar had a black officer involved in the attempt to cover up like with Van Dyke. If they aren't active in participating in the shooting/beating, please know they doing their part to wipe bodycams and stay silent upholding that Blue Wall. Of the top 24 ranking police officials in Chicago, 12 of them are black. Think about that number. Half of all the top brass in the city are black including the guy at the very top. Black population in Chicago is about 30%. Black officers make up almost 25% of the force....and ain't a fukking thing changed.

So no. They can't all be white, but let's stop acting like them being black makes a damn bit of difference. It doesn't.

having black cops in black neighborhoods is way more positive than an all white force. I’d probably agree with u if moving to a black city with all black cops didn’t change my mind. I never nodded ”what up” to a cop in my life til then. When they look like u it makes a difference in how u feel about them. Do I trust a cop? Na. But it’s a necessary evil. We can live la la land and imagine a city with zero police force but that ain’t gonna happen. I’ll take a black police force any day over these white ones. Regardless of what happened in your city lately, black cops have kids that look like yours and are less likely to kill kids that resemble their own kids. MOST OF THE TIME

I went to Sacred Heart and I lived around that exact area for awhileshyt is wild. All the schools shutdown smh. Sad that kids had to witness a full blown movie shootout. Completely unnecessary.

Sacred Heart is closed down now.. ?? omg! When did it close? That’s the school where there were only like 10 students in a class? it was real small from what I remember - there was one teacher who would teach multiple grades at the time, maybe 10-12 yrs ago. It’s been awhile and my memory is sketch but that school name stood out. A lot of Jersey private schools closed- St. Patrick’s in Elizabeth, NJ (famous for their basketball program). Is St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark still open?
