:bryan:They saying Speedy Noil is also academically ineligible & miss the first game of the season in 2016 against UCLA. They also say he gonna end up transferring too!!!

Where is @*DalMem* & @OH SOHH TRILL ? Where y'all hiding?!

I'm right here. You know your schools doing something right when your rival is hoping that they might get a chance to get a QB that might transfer from your school. But y'all carry on.

One of the biggest stories in college football is happening in College Station with reports of quarterback Kyler Murray potentially transferring from Texas A&M. The news comes just six days after fellow quarterback Kyle Allen announced his transfer from the Aggies.

Unlike Allen, Murray’s decision is not yet final, but the quarterback contemplating leaving A&M has been an on going battle for a number of weeks, sources told Horns Digest.

Head coach Kevin Sumlin made promises to Murray about the amount of playing time he would see throughout the 2015 season, in addition to the playing-time promises made to Murray throughout the recruiting process, according to sources.

The issues began after Murray started three-games, was then benched for Allen and did not play a snap in the final two games of the regular season.

With Allen transferring, it would seem the playing time issue is resolved. However, the issue has evolved into something much deeper than the number of snaps Murray receives.

A significant factor behind his potential transfer is Murray and his family have lost trust in Sumlin and the Aggies coaching staff, according to sources.

“This is a kid, who still has options, that has lost total trust in his coach and the program,” one source said Wednesday. “During the season, Kyler came to a point where he said ‘I can’t trust this man anymore.’”

But Murray is not alone when it comes to trusting his head coach.

Sources indicated that a lack of trust in Sumlin played a role in Allen’s decision to transfer from Texas A&M. Murray and Allen had discussed these trust issues weeks before Allen made his decision final, according to sources.

It is yet to be determined if Murray will ultimately follow in his former teammate’s footsteps. But Sumlin will need to answer some questions if another former five-star quarterback walks away from Texas A&M.

These situations can always change, and as of Wednesday evening, Murray’s fate as an Aggie remains undecided.

However, there is no doubt Sumlin has a long way to go to not only convince Murray to remain in College Station, but more importantly, to rebuild the broken trust he has with his talented quarterback.

Kyler Murray Transfer Not A Done Deal But This Is Sumlin’s Moment Of Critical Mass

On Wednesday, Texags.com posted that freshman quarterback Kyler Murray was thinking of transferring away from Texas A&M. This after news that Kyle Allen the sophomore quarterback for the Aggies already announced he was transferring, possibly to the University of Houston.

The Kevin Sumlin/Kyler Murray story is extremely fluid. But here are a few key notes as I’ve heard them through various sources this afternoon and evening.

  • Kyler Murray remains an Aggie. For now. But rest assured, after the Aggies’ first bowl game football practice Wednesday, when Kevin Sumlin said he expected Murray back for practice on Thursday it was largely wishful thinking.
  • Sumlin and Murray’s father, Kevin, were expected to speak again Wednesday evening. Kyler Murray has told coaches and athletic department personnel that he truly loves the Texas A&M experience, his teammates, the school and wants to be an Aggie. However, the direction and coaching of the Aggie offense has been a huge disappointment and soured Murray on whether A&M actually is the best place for him to play football.
  • Kevin Murray is looking for assurances that the changes in the offensive approach are significant and are the best fit not just for Kyler’s talent, but offensive personnel across-the-board, which underachieved badly this season. If Murray stays, then an almost complete overhaul of the offensive staff likely would happen.
  • Without question, this one decision could be Sumlin’s critical-mass moment. In recent seasons, Sumlin has had one three-star quarterback (Jameil Showers), two four-star quarterbacks (Matt Davis and Kenny Hill) and one five-star (Kyle Allen) transfer. Kyler Murray would be the fifth highly regarded quarterback to transfer, and the second five-star player. It’s not just fans and former students whose frustration is palpable. The relationship between Sumlin and athletic director Eric Hyman at best can be described as strained.
  • Why has this happened? Piecing together the gist of various conversations today, clearly Sumlin’s “ivory tower” approach to coaching, as one source put it, has backfired. That is, many believe he remains detached from players’ daily lives — leaving it up to assistant coaches. Sumlin also has earned a reputation for caring little about anything or anyone in the department except those who produce on the field. Stories abound of Sumlin looking the other way when the most talented players miss practice, weight-training or consistently arrive late to meetings or mandatory events.
  • That perceived entitlement was masked during Johnny Manziel’s tenure, because of Manziel’s great production. But some say it also was masked by former assistants Kliff Kingsbury’s and David Beaty’s abilities to serve as buffers between Sumlin and players. Kingsbury and Beaty were huge assets in coach-player relationships. Kingsbury, now Texas Tech’s head coach, particularly served as not just a coach who could relate and coach players, but handled the entirety of the offense with little input from Sumlin. Current offensive coordinator Jake Spavital is considered more indecisive and a yes-man to Sumlin.
  • There is some sentiment that the Murray transfer question will not be resolved until after the Aggies’ bowl game, at which point significant staff changes will occur. Or else.

:yeshrug: UT fans are desperate for a QB. I still think Kyler is a better passer than either Heard, Swoopes, or Locksley.

Locksley got legit QB throwing potential. Although he lacks QB skill (if that makes sense)

He's got the raw tools to be a good QB but needs another 2 years to get ready to start in college. Dude has only played QB for a few years.

I'd take Kyler over all those QBs. But if Kyler doesnt transfer to UT. Just gotta be patient with Locksley another year and hope he's ready to roll in 2017.

Houston
The Texas posters in this thread got me weak :deadmanny:

Sumlin definitely has his behind the scenes issues and he's at least had them since he was at Houston. There are message board posters that openly talk about when they used to drink with Kevin. :pachaha:

Even though he left in a fukked up way and sabotaged the biggest game UofH had played in during my lifetime (at the time) so he could get a jump start recruiting at his current school I've always stayed silent and wished him well. Him being a successful black coach at a school like aggy is bigger than me being bitter about how he left. It's true he has a lot that is being covered up but it shows everyone what type of people we're talking about now that they appear ready to throw him under the bus if he can't talk this prima donna off of the ledge.

With that said I've noticed that nobody has mentioned a piece of information that adds even further context... he didn't start running off highly rated QBs when he got to college station. :sas2:

I want to introduce everyone to the highest rated quarterback that UofH has signed in this century (that is until February but that's another story):sas1:

lank: Terrance Broadway - Yahoo! Sports

I would like my fellow coli brehs to notice how similar this story is to the Murray story:

Broadway was expected to take a redshirt this year, but when both Case Keenum andCotton Turner suffered season-ending injuries during Houston's game at UCLA, Broadway was thrust into the spotlight. He played well in the closing minutes of that game, and earned a start the following week against Tulane. He had a mediocre performance in what would end up being his only start of the season, turning the ball over three times, taking five sacks, and not accounting for a touchdown. Behind strong performances by the defense and running game, Houston earned a 42-23 win.

Things went south for Broadway after that, however.

He made only two more garbage-time appearances, playing well in both instances, but never getting another shot at the starting job. Even when starter David Piland threw four first half interceptions against Tulsa, head coach Kevin Sumlin stuck with his man.

Source: Farewell To Broadway?

Sumlin benched this dude for life after a blowout win.:patrice:

If Murray decides to transfer right this minute he will have lasted only a few days longer as a quarterback on a Sumlin team. Btw, Broadway went to Louisiana Lafayette and holds a bunch of records and shyt. :beli:

Piland led us to our only two losing seasons this decade and got beat out by a true freshman 2 games into his junior season.

Like I said before, I've seen this kid play in High School and I've never seen a more accurate passer in high school. I didn't play like it this year but everyone that has seen him play knows that he is a special player

Texas still the favorite to pick him up? Seems kind of an odd move to make for him given that Charlie has no job security.
