Long term wise I think Kyler's future is baseball anyway. UT fans are clamoring for this guy to come here because they want him to be QB1, we want him to come here because it will cause an A&M meltdown and the balance of power in the state will no longer be of question to the casuals out there.
Sumlin has never won anywhere with his own players. For all the glory he has gotten for recruiting go back and look at those A&M classes now.
And then they gave him that 5 million/year extension.
hes only coached another team before a&m and that was houston, and the core of 2011 team that almost went to a bcs bowl was recruited by sumlin
all this talk of going to play QB wherever, shouldnt the long term focus be on baseball? his dad so involved he needs to get that going. dude could be caking in a few years

Scott Frost was apparently one of the main reason Kyler was considering Oregon. Frost handled most of Kyler's recruiting apparently. Plus even if Oregon was a consideration at this point(which I don't believe they are), it would probably fukk up ryan kelley 2017 commitment. Who the Ducks are pretty high on.
Frankly if this Prukop dude works out as good as Adams. I would just keep grabbing dudes from free agency, er' graduate transfers.

Why UT fits:
- UT just hired a new offensive coordinator. None of the QBs have experience in the system. If Swoopes wins the job, he is a senior while Kyler sits out. The opportunity is there.
- UT's new offensive system is much more of a fit for his skill set than that air raid bullshyt.
- UT is a national baseball power with multiple national championships. His uncle played baseball for UT. If he has to spend 3 years playing baseball, there are worse places to play than UT.
- It would be somewhere he chose and not somewhere he felt like he had to go. You could feel that last year.

Sumlin's success at UofH was because he had Dana Holgerson as OC, than later on Kliff Kingsbury as OC.
