not to mention, this is literally like being hired for a brand new job. Coaches pick schools based on conference. If Riley wanted to coach in the SEC, I’m pretty sure he would rather pick the school as opposed to him being forced to.

he was already there for 11 years as a coordinator, so he already knows OU the traditions, customs etc.

When USC is winning they become a national story, much like Notre Dame. I've never felt OU get that kind of love nationally even when they're winning.
