If you’re talking about Al Qaeda and modern groups then sure …but by that point groups like the Muslim Brotherhood was getting active for decades. ..and their main issue was the humiliation of Muslims in the ME and the fact that Israel even existed…let alone was a military power .

You don’t get rid of radical islamists by doubling down on what caused them to be openly radical (and that radicalism being embraced) in the first place .
