A manhunt is underway for Vance Boelter, who is suspected of shooting two Minnesota state lawmakers – one of them fatally – as well as their spouses. Now, multiple law enforcement sources have told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS a traffic stop at a convenience store located near Onamia late Saturday morning involved a vehicle which was carrying Boelter’s wife, as well as three other relatives.

Sources say a traffic stop was done between 10 and 11 a.m. A witness says about a dozen law enforcement squads converged on the vehicle and remained on the scene for two to three hours.

Two sources tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the vehicle contained a weapon, ammunition, cash and passports. However, to our knowledge, no one has been arrested – just questioned.

It also hasn’t been disclosed as to why the vehicle was stopped, whether it was being tracked, or if it was a random traffic stop.

Briefings about the incident are ongoing Saturday night, and 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS will continue to track the developments.

I mean they had reason to worry about their safety once his name went out there :manny:

If they went to police there's no telling how long they'd be detained and what would happen to them

Dude was clearly deranged and selfish as hell putting other people through hell just because he couldn't cope with life like a normal person.

Obviously if they assisted him in his schemes then they deserve jail, but this information alone isn't enough to say that's what they had going on, most would react the same

If they're innocent then they would have nothing to worry about going to the police. It's a white, Christian family. They would've been aight.

Plus if they're worried about their safety, more reason to go the police instead of fleeing to a whole new country, surely? This reads like textbook arranging to meet him somewhere else imo.

In social media posts and websites, Boelter said he had extensive experience as a security professional with "training by both private security firms and by people in the U.S. Military."

NPR found little evidence to support Boelter's account. He appears to have worked most of his career in the food service industry and one long-time friend described parts of Boelter's narrative about his life as "fantasy."

On the website for a company called Praetorian Guard Security Services, LLC, Boelter described himself as part of the "leadership team."

NPR found no record of the firm having clients or providing any services. A call to the company's phone number connected to what appears to be a private phone line, not a business. The address listed in incorporation papers appeared to be that of a law firm specializing in divorce litigation.

Boelter himself appears to have no history working in law enforcement, the military or private security.

Video of this law maker voting with republicans a few days ago but what I find odd is her crying. It’s almost like her mind is on something else. I doubt she is crying about this bill. She seems really mentally distressed.

Wonder if she was getting threats before this or if her vote was under duress like she was pressured to vote this way.

Is it just me and am I reading too much into this?
