It was nice with the guarantee of working from home because it made many realize how going into the office for most jobs was a scam. I feel going forward jobs should be WFH or hybrid because going to the office 5 days a week was a scam
Not as long as you still have some younger Boomers still pulling strings. They romanticized the "commute to work", "office bonding", "lunch meetings with the team" and etc ideals. They have to justify the building... and then the restaurants around the buildings need you... as do the city to get money for parking and etc. At my job now everyone was excelling at WFH and then the top person at the HQ in DC came through and mandated everyone there to end the WFH and do an "ramp up" schedule there at the HQ.
2mths onsite 1x / wk
2mths onsite 2x/ wk
4mths onsite 3x/ wk
4mths onsite 4x /wk
the back to the office full time.
All the satellite campuses, like I work as, have been bussin' our ass to keep it 1 to 2 days a week onsite but he's coming to our site next week to visit and i'm pretty sure he's going to kill that and implement the same BS that HQ has now. We increased production...but the way he see it is... if we were all together face to face we could even increase it more via team building and casual convo. I've been enjoying it but my boss said if they force us back full time then he'd implement Rotating Days Off or a way to at least do a 3 onsite - 2 WFH schedule that flip flops every other week for our group.
