There is a world that exists outside of your tiny little line of sight. Netflix is a publicly traded company worth billions of dollars and this story has been trending on social media for quite some time.
So yeah it is overblown by the Trans community but it is'nt a one off story, and the President of Netflix has already backtracked, signalling that they will indeed get some concessions out of this.
But it is bullshyt and they need to learn that being Trans does not make you a sacred cow that cannot be the butt of jokes, especially jokes that were meant to point out the privilege that Trans folk have enjoyed with regards to civil rights, a privilege that they used to step RIIIIIIIGHT over Black people in this country and the world over.
GET THE fukk IN LINE...and when I say that, I don't mean fall back, I mean wait your fukking turn patiently, like Black people have been waiting for, and are currently waiting for in this country
It's not a contest, but to listen to Dave Chapelle's special and walk away thinking he was inciting hate against Trans people actually gives credence to the idea that these people are mentally unwell

we say it all the time...social media is NOT the real world. Dave understands this and hopefully more people latch on and agree.

Neither the national media nor my social circle are obsessively following a tiny protest by a handful of trannys.
We have better things to do with our time than seek out what Trannies are upset over daily.
And yet somehow since the special dropped I’ve had articles about this all over my LinkedIn feed and all the various online publications I read from The Atlantic, Salon, Slate to the Economist.
