Where did you hear that Isaias grew up in Ethiopia?Yeah, this is nuts. I’m really happy for both sides, just to know that families can be reunited is a beautiful thing. I know time and politics have separated us but honestly we’re family foreal. Isaias grew up in Ethiopia, the union between the two sides wasn’t anything like say, the Japanese invading China in WWII, in spite of the characterizations put forth at times.
Somali brehs I want to ask y’all, are y’all just being funny when you say Somaliland want to get annexed into Ethiopia or is that actually a thing? Some of yalls comments in past threads had me wondering that the other day. Would be interesting given the oil discovery.

He grew up in Asmara and went to high school in Asmara, and yeah since his mother is Tigrayan I wouldn't be surprised if he spent some time visiting his family there. I think his mother was born in Eritrea though? It's similar to Meles who had a Tigray father and eritrean mother. Isaias went to Addis Ababa university and speaks fluent amharic aswell. Thats why I was surprised he held his speeches yesterday in Tigrinya, thought he would do it in Amharic as a nice gesture like Abiy tries to use his TigrinyaI read somewhere that he grew up between Dessie and Asmara, his mom was from Tigray, and his dad was even a staunch Unionist in Eritrea. If nothing else, I think Ethiopia is definitely a second country for someone like Isaias despite all the past political mudslinging.
Some hardcore secessionists would rather join Ethiopia rather than unite with the south if their dreams never materializes, I doubt that would ever happen though, realistically speaking.
Also Abdi Ileey, the most hated regional president of the Ogaden recently appeared in a press conference acting weird, The tough guy was now copping pleas and saying that the tigray generals were gangsters holding a gun to his head demanding money and ordering all the killing and tortures.
You know the oil that was discovered in the Ogaden? the two sites are named after a Tigray businessman and the crude was suppose to be taken to the tigray region to be refined meaning the Somalis would get bread crumbs if they were lucky and the rest to the Tigrays. SMH.
It's gonna be interesting times coming up, I want to see how these events unfold.
