Amen is not a true point guard and making him play it full time would not be smart. They have to throw Reed Sheppard into the fire and figure out how to put him in the best situations defensively.

Aaron Holiday is a solid backup for spot minutes. Between Sheppard, Amen, KD and Sengun they should have enough playmaking, but they will miss having a floor general

Stop.

Amen's natural is at pg.

He’s not. It’s the same thing people used to say about LeBron running point. Bringing the ball up the floor and getting assists doesn’t mean you’re a natural PG.

You need someone with instincts to run an offense, known when and where certain guys need shots, and in today’s game you have to be able to shoot consistently.

He can be a playmaker but he’s not a point guard

Honestly, the only reason he’s not a pg is cause Houston hasn’t let him grown in that role and he’s so good he was able to thrive in other roles. But his natural passing talent and his insane rim pressure would translate at point. He’s a walking paint touch. He played point his whole career before entering the league. Give him the reps and he’ll thrive. Even with a streaky jumper.

This is one of the games he played point last year when FVV was down. They need to just let him take the reins

fvv really ain’t all that but he is a smart player. I think they can be ok. This bullshyt about needing a “real point guard” is old head speak.
