Let's see if she gets suspended (retroactively).

ESPN opened a can of worms with this one, so now they have no choice but to suspend Wendy too right? :mjpls:

Jemele has a case. :mjpls:

This was a couple of years ago unfortunately. But that double standard is messed up. Wendi Nix straight out called those sponsors by name and everything.

Some of y'all simply do not understand how broadcasting & journalism works. You're not allowed to be biased or state your own personal opinion as concrete fact; and if you are going to be, you cannot be associated with the station. She needs another Twitter account, not listed on her ESPN profile for when she wants to sound off. hella journalists lose their careers over letting words fly.

There's some leeway for former athletes but a professionally trained journalist knows better. You don't see many other journalists jumping the lines she's jump. There's tact with being a journalist - and ways to word whatever you're gonna say. Honestly, they gave her a pass with calling naming the Pres. She should have gone back to class and relearned how to be subtle if she values her job and career. This ain't Fox News where you can say whatever.

There's some give and take, and no real wrong answer though. I mean - some see her using her status and national platform to speak out against social wrongs of the world, however the reciprocal is that she won't reach as many people without the platform. Her status and being there is an inspiration in itself. There are far more intelligent ways to fight the fight on that level.

Social Media will soon be dealt with by all employers.

Y'all still mad at that article :deadrose:

I'm not going to agree with Jemele or any person on anything but the issue is the silencing of voices.

The account she used seems to be a personal account. But agree on a lot of what you said.

Man you got be quiet on this one. The post a few above yours show they aren't consistent with the stuff so what are you talking about? If they were you'd have a case but since they aren't you should be quiet on this one my man.

Don't necessarily disagree with you.

Jemele and these other black feminists are talking about a certain type of black man, i.e. the degenerates and misogynists.. I don't think most of us agree or fukk with these type nikkaz disrespecting and beating our black women. My issue with her and the others is that they don't SPECIFY that this is the type of man they are talking about. They generalize way too much. Like I said earlier, a simple "some" or a "certain percentage" of black men in that and other articles goes a LONG way. Call out dem bum nikkaz SPECIFICALLY!!

Is there similarity between the LGBTQ struggle and the civil rights movement? Of course there is. Is it on the same level? Absolutely not. Saying there are similarities is not the same as being equal because they absolutely are not. I give the side eye to those who say they are.

And no, I'm not going to side with groups like the KKK, clan, and other bigosts, misogynists, and bums against her because of the opinions she expresses against those types of cats. No way in hell will I be on their side celebrating her getting suspended and wanting her to be fired. She definitely needs to be a better job of specifiying the types of nikkaz she and other feminists are railing against. I don't run with woman beaters and I'm sure that most cats on here don't either.

Nobody's siding with the KKK by saying she should fight her own battle now that we see how she feels about black men :comeon:

She didnt specify. Nor did the article from what I read (didnt read it all though). So thats a problem. And I think its acceptable to NOT support a person because of the rhetoric they support. I can support the issue shes talking about, without supporting her in particular. Especially since all shes doing and will do is spout off on twitter. They will never step out and actually support Kapernick and the cause in real life because theres no plan in place for anything to be accomplished other than "winning" the sympathy of cacs... But thats another story.

The bottom line is (and I dont know why you feel you MUST support her) that the rhetoric of the article and the issue of the thread are opposites. Showing like most black feminists, she's a double agent. One day she's pro black, the next day she's blaming black men for something. Theres no point of including someone like that in a movement for black upliftment just because somewhere, they say something nice or supportive. Either you're in or you're out, and her retweeting that article shows that she's trying to be both in and out even if she isnt doing it purposely.

Theres nothing similar about being gay/transgender etc... and being black breh. None whatsoever. Their struggle is based on them wanting their behavior to be accepted. The black struggle was based on them wanting to be accepted period. Two different fights that they try to lump together so they can lump in being black with being lgbtq. I wasnt saying you said its on the same level Im just telling you what I see the gameplan of them always linking the two together is. Its about connecting being black wit degeneracy (subconsciously)...

:hubie:No Lies told. If a Black male journalist was in the same situation as Jamele Hill & had a similar history of shytting on BW as Jamele Hill does shytting on BM or was a outright c00n, there'd be no #IStandWithJamele-type movement for him. So the whole thing movement is fake AF to me. I had to shake my head at that Al Sharpton press conference today.

Let's see what happens with sage Steele and/or Stacey Dash. I don't think they got support in recent situations. But then again they are open Republicans.

Difference being jemele still rides with black women and is a democrat... Hence, enough brothas gonna overlook stuff. NOW if jemele bashes black women even her male support will vanish. Black women like jemele...not Stacey and Sage.
