OMFG at the comments in this threadThing is, an upper mid-major like SDSU probably wouldn’t even want him if they have a chance at a Tourney bid. Unless Lamelo was promised too. Just not worth the baggage (aka his father).
A school like Irvine is more likely.

ok coach danksterYou're absolutely right.
I was looking at Irvine's roster, and they got 4 talented swingmen Liangelo's size who would get minutes ahead him this year and next (people would be surprised at how often UC Irvine nails 3* recruits). Three of them are sophomores this year...which means that Liangelo MIGHT be able to get minutes his junior year IF he shows a great deal of improvement and passes them up. Or maybe not.
And that's fukking UC Irvine.![]()

the comparison flew over your head. I was simply saying kids from privileged backgrounds dont value free education like non-privileged people. same goes with athletes. liangelo happens to fall in both categories.OMFG at the comments in this thread
Nikkas here really comparing these mofos to the fukken Kardashians (like they are aspirational figures that are paradigm of high society).
Black folk need to have better roles models. Damn. Mother. fukking. Shame.
A lot of mid-majors recruit players with his general talent level (although there are a lot more talented 2 and 3 star recruits than him), but with good intangibles and willingness to play by the coach’s system. At the lower level, competing for conference championships against other teams with similar resources means often that you’re getting the same kinds of low major player as your opponents. What separates Irvine from, say, Riverside in the conference tourney is usually execution of playcalls, defense, and the ability to find diamonds in the rough in the offseason.
LaMelo really hasn’t shown he can play within a legitimate system, play defense, or that he is underrated (if anything he’s overrated due to his brothers). Just not a good look.
Minus his father he’d be a great 4 year 3 point specialist off the bench for a small conference team, or even a part-time starter if he’s dedicate himself to playing defense.
The only way a low-major would take him right now is if their team sucked, had no chance at a tourney bid, and needed publicity badly.

You already told me coach u already know what the rotations would be if he attendedEverything you say is on point.
I don't flaunt it, but I AM a coach. How many people on this board can say they paid to coach?
Right now UC Irvine starts 6'5" junior Brandon Smith at the three, but gives more minutes to 6'5" sophomore (3*) John Edgar Jr.
On the bench they also got 6'4" redshirt sophomore (3*) Darrion Traylor who only getting 7 minutes/game but shooting 47% from three, as well as 6'4" redshirt freshman (3*) Justin Wertner, who getting 13 minutes/game and shooting 46% from three.
So who is LiAngelo going to knock out of the rotation, the established junior starting or one of the three young 3* recruits who been in the system and are already getting playing time and hitting their threes, which is literally the only thing LiAngelo adds to a team?

Lamello and liangelo wasn't going to ucla for no education. they life is set with the family business and money and I'm sure they will make they own money playing basketball as well.
