I like this move.

A rather inconsequential move on the surface, but a much more important one the deeper you dive.

If you’ve been paying attention over the last 5-10 years you would’ve heard players openly discuss how they protect their numbers for future contractual purposes. This is a step in the right direction to combat some of those tendencies that have crept into the game.

This is silly one shot is not going to affect a players FG% like that.

On a grand scale, it won’t affect player FG percentages, but it’ll most certainly affect how players approach these situations rather than just dribbling the ball out or throwing up shots after the buzzer has gone.
