I can only imagine the chaos this South Joisey Italian loudmouth is causing down there. :mjlol:

The Patriot Way. When Matt Patricia was coaching the Lions, him and the GM forbid the general staff (janitors, chefs, etc) from speaking to players. That type of strict control creates a cold atmosphere where everyone is miserable. The funny thing is that it's very hard to deny the only reason any of this worked was Tom Brady. Remove that and Belichick likely bombs out after 5-6 years in New England and just becomes a defensive coordinator again.

Its this simple

People keep on being obtuse with "what abOuT BelIcHick's dEfeNseS" and ignore the fact that Belichick's PERSONALITY AND COACHING STAFF WOULD NOT HAVE SURVIVED WITHOIT BRADY

You can be a defensive mastermind all you want, but when players hate you and your staff, you won't last. You literally need a QB thats not only amazing on the field but can help the rest of the team buy-in in the locker room

Gonna have to go back to the bottom of the barrel after this one. I swear to god my stomach dropped the second Lombardi was brought on. Whole thing was doomed from the beginning.
Yeah, he seems like a grade A wasteman whose claim to fame is working with Bill Walsh, Al Davis and Bill Belichick. But he really ain't shyt.

I don't think it was only about Brady in the early years. I think what it was about was they had good players that were brought in by Parcells, who was a better evaluator of talent than Belichick. A lot of them had already been to the Super Bowl as well (McGinest, Bruschi, Law, Milloy). They set the standard and the tone, along with some other guys who were brought in by Belichick (Harrison, Seymour, Vrabel).

But to keep that going, and once the defense got worse, Brady being Brady was what kept things going.

I can acknowledge Parcells's drafting...

But you forget one thing: in 2000, Belichick's first year, they went 5-11 :mjlol: and then started 0-2 The next year, with those same guys

They kept on losing close games and the locker room was getting ugly (as is the case with many Belichick coached teams)

Until Bledsoe got hurt and Brady stepped in.

The locker room and team culture has always been a train wreck with Belichick coached teams - Cleveland, 2000 Pats, post-Brady pats, and now UNC.

Bruh the Pats went 10 years without winning a SB and that's when the offense was breaking records. They didn't win their 3 other SBs until they brought in the defensive players like Hightower, McCourty, Jones, Gilmore, Revis for one year, etc. You can't just win with offense lol.

I agree. Though to be fair, they almost see the Giants with a bad defense in 2011.
