Parcells was involved in several rebuilds: Giants, Pats, Jets and Cowboys.

All four were struggling and all four became good/respectable with Coach Parcells. I think Belichick was a little better "in game" but Parcells was wayyyyy better at talent evaluation. His repeated success proved it wasn't a fluke. If not for the Romo botched snap in '06, he probably drags that Cowboys team to the SB....they already beat the Colts earlier that year. Damn sure don't get embarrassed by the Giants in '07 if he was there.

Belichick was elite as a DC. Great HC but sucked as a GM. Brady being Brady and Beli's defensive mind allowed that Pats dynasty to last longer than it would have otherwise.

Without Brady, Belichick has been ass as a head coach. This cannot be disputed..He had something going in Cleveland but he got fired before we saw anything there bear fruit

I think Belichick was a fine HC as long as someone else picked the players. That's how the Patriots won those first two SB's when Brady wasn't quite Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr., yet. The team was heavy on Parcells guys.

Once he had more say and GM duties, they leaned on Brady to carry them and compensate for roster deficiencies created by Belichick's draft fukk ups.

Beli needed a Howie Roseman to help him build a roster but his ego wouldn't allow it.

Beli also valued "smart" heady guys too much. Sometimes you need that but sometimes you just gotta go draft a dawg that makes shyt happen. Belichick is the guy that would draft MHJ over Dez Bryant.

He was definitely terrible at drafting.. He started overruling the scouts and was just awful.

No, not even a fine HC. He sucks at building a strong locker room culture

You keep ignoring that they were 5-11 and 0-2 in his first two years before Brady stepped in.

Obviously Brady wasn't Brady but Belichick had already proved he couldn't build a good foundation with the Pats without Brady from the start.

Bledsoe was a QB that not only led them to the super bowl but hadn't had a losing season since 95. Belichick goes there and makes Bledsoe a losing QB again

Belichikc is a great defensive coordinator full stop.

Every time I see this thread bumped with the "breaking news" header I think Bill got fired lol.

I'd def throw him in the bushes for Franklin. At least then you get a guy who can recruit, win 7-10 games, and while you'll never win the ACC or get to the playoffs, you'll sell tickets lol.
